She wrote that, although she was devastated, she chose to focus on enjoying the time she had left rather than mourning the life she was losing. Her advice to readers was personal and direct:
“You should enjoy the little things in life and cherish every moment! Romanticise your life! Do whatever makes you happy and don’t let anyone take the joy of life away from you.”

Why did her family post it after her death?
The message was prepared for loved ones to share after Thackray died. Her family posted it on LinkedIn and Facebook on February 23, 2024, the report says. It received thousands of reactions and comments across the platforms, but the report does not give a dated count for either post.
What happened after her diagnosis?
TODAY’s account places Thackray’s cholangiocarcinoma diagnosis in July 2023. She died in February 2024. Her fiancé, Tom Calvert, told the outlet that her funeral took place on March 18, 2024.
The report also says her former employer, 26 Agency, was fundraising for St Gemma’s Hospice in Leeds in her memory. It does not establish whether that fundraiser remains active.

Thackray addressed Calvert directly with a message about continuing to live after her death: “Go enjoy your life now, you deserve it.” The line sits alongside her broader encouragement to find joy in everyday life, even amid grief.
