Jenna Ortega plays the teen Wednesday Addams at the center of Netflix’s Wednesday. The younger versions are credited to Karina Váradi in Season 1 and Emily Ring in Season 2, according to secondary reporting; Netflix’s cast guides name Ortega but do not list either child performer.
Who plays Wednesday in the Netflix series?
Jenna Ortega plays the principal, teenage Wednesday Addams. Netflix’s Season 1 cast guide describes Wednesday as 15 and identifies Ortega in the role. Netflix’s Season 2 cast guide also identifies Ortega as Wednesday.
Who plays young Wednesday in each season?
| Season | Portrayal | Performer and credit source |
|---|---|---|
| Season 1 | Young-child Wednesday | Karina Váradi, identified in secondary episode-cast material. Netflix’s Season 1 cast guide does not list her. |
| Season 2 | Young Wednesday | Emily Ring. What’s on Netflix reported that a call sheet listed Ring as “Young Wednesday”; a later TresA profile also identifies her with the role. Netflix’s Season 2 cast guide does not list her. |
The child-role attributions above come from secondary sources, rather than the Netflix cast guides. For Season 1, the available attribution is secondary episode-cast material; for Season 2, the cited report and profile both name Ring.
Is young Wednesday played by Jenna Ortega?
Not in the child flashback portrayals described here. Ortega plays the central teen version; Váradi and Ring are separately credited by secondary sources for younger portrayals in Seasons 1 and 2, respectively. Netflix’s interview with Ortega discusses her performance as Wednesday, including exploring different dimensions of scenes, but does not identify the child performers.
