Lady Gaga’s free Copacabana Beach concert on May 3, 2025, had no separate opening show, Rio de Janeiro’s culture secretary said in an April 25 announcement. DJs were scheduled to warm up the crowd, but their names had not been confirmed in that report.
Was there an opening act for Lady Gaga in Copacabana?
Not a separate opening show. Rio de Janeiro Culture Secretary Lucas Padilha told gshow on April 25, 2025, that DJs would provide pre-show entertainment but that no opening show was planned. His Portuguese statement was: “São DJs e ainda não temos os nomes… os nomes ainda não foram confirmados. Mas não vai ter um show de abertura” — meaning, “They are DJs and we still don’t have the names… the names have not yet been confirmed. But there will not be an opening show.”

That distinction matters: DJ warm-up entertainment was part of the program, but the available reports do not identify a separate artist or band as Gaga’s opener.
Which DJs performed before the concert?
The April 25 report said the DJs’ names had not yet been confirmed. Rio City Hall’s event operations notice also described guest DJs before Gaga’s performance and a DJ afterward, but did not name them. The available sources do not establish which individual DJs performed, so no specific opener can be named reliably.
