A Reuters profile in August 2025 placed her advocacy in contrast with the growing visibility of food-focused influencers aligned with the “Make America Healthy Again” (MAHA) movement. The contrast is also one of reach: Reuters reported a large gap between Miller’s and Vani Hari’s Instagram audiences in early August 2025, but follower counts measure audience size—not whose claims are more accurate.
Who is the Farm Babe?
Miller’s official biography says she previously worked in fashion retail and began sharing agriculture myth-busting content in 2014, after her perspective changed while she lived and worked around farming. She describes her current work as farming and communicating about agriculture through speaking, writing, podcasting and social media. These details come from Miller’s own account on The Farm Babe’s official biography.
A 2018 profile by the Texas Farm Bureau also described Miller discussing farming practices, biotechnology and animal welfare online. Her public role is therefore not limited to defending one technology: she presents herself as a translator between consumers and agricultural producers.
What does she advocate for?
Miller’s website describes a mission of advocating for farmers and bringing consumers and agriculture closer together. Her advocacy includes support for GMOs and conventional agriculture. That position places her in debates about crop technology, farming practices and the influence of large food and agriculture businesses; it does not settle every question about pesticide use, environmental effects, food ingredients or corporate power.

Her Burger King campaign
The Farm Babe’s website recounts that Miller challenged Burger King’s 2020 “lemongrass-fed cows” advertising and invited company representatives to her Iowa farm. The site says the advertisement was later revised. This is the company’s account of Miller’s campaign, rather than an independently verified account of why the ad changed.
How does Miller compare with Vani Hari?
Reuters’ August 2025 profile contrasted Miller’s advocacy for GMOs and conventional agriculture with food-focused MAHA influencers’ criticism of parts of the food system. It also compared Miller with Vani Hari, widely known as the Food Babe. Their public narratives differ: Miller emphasizes agriculture and the case for conventional practices, while Hari is presented in Reuters’ coverage as part of a food-influencer current scrutinizing ingredients and industry practices.

Those Instagram counts are Reuters’ historical snapshot from early August 2025, not current totals. Separately, Miller’s official website currently claims 400,000-plus followers and 5–6 million monthly impressions across platforms. Those are self-reported promotional figures observed on October 7, 2026; they cover different measures and are not directly comparable with Reuters’ Instagram-only counts.
Audience scale can affect how far a message travels, but it cannot by itself establish expertise, evidence quality or accuracy. The comparison is best read as a difference in reach and framing, not a verdict on the underlying claims.

What was changing in the food debate?
Reuters reported that Kraft Heinz and General Mills announced in June 2025 plans to phase out synthetic food dyes by 2027. That was a stated intention at the time of the report, not evidence that the changes had been completed. The announcement illustrates the pressure food companies faced amid public scrutiny of ingredients; it does not, on its own, validate every criticism made by MAHA-aligned influencers or resolve the broader debate over food and agriculture.
