For Leon S. Kennedy’s photorealistic appearance in Resident Evil 2 (2019), secondary reporting identifies Romanian model Eduard Badaluta as the face reference. Capcom’s reviewed official materials do not directly confirm that attribution, so it is best treated as a reported identification—not an official Capcom credit.
Who is reported to be Leon’s face model?
Eduard Badaluta is identified in secondary reporting as the face reference for Leon in the 2019 remake. That answer is specific to this version of the character; it should not be extended to every game or film featuring Leon.
REVIL’s report and the Wikipedia entry for Resident Evil 2 (2019) provide the attribution. The available official Capcom material reviewed does not name Badaluta as Leon’s face model.
Is Nick Apostolides the face model?
Nick Apostolides is listed as Leon S. Kennedy in the game’s PS4 credits. That establishes a performer credit, not that he supplied Leon’s facial likeness. The credits listing does not, by itself, identify a face-model or motion-capture role.

What did the development team scan?
PlayStation.Blog’s 2018 development coverage says the team recreated Leon’s costume physically and used photogrammetry to scan the clothing into the game, with details and changes added afterward. That account describes costume capture; it does not name Leon’s face model or establish that the face was captured in the same way.

PlayStation.Blog’s development article also discusses Leon’s updated, younger rookie appearance in the remake.
Does the answer apply to every Leon appearance?
No. Leon has appeared in multiple games and films, and the available sources do not establish a complete appearance-by-appearance list of face references. A separate claim associates Jamisin Matthews with facial references for earlier CGI-film-era material, but the reviewed first-party sources do not verify a full history. Badaluta’s reported attribution should therefore remain limited to Leon’s likeness in Resident Evil 2 (2019).

What do Capcom’s official materials confirm?
Capcom’s character archive provides fictional background about Leon, including details tied to the events of Resident Evil 2, but it does not identify a real-world face model. Capcom’s Leon S. Kennedy character archive is useful for the character’s in-universe biography, not for confirming the reported likeness attribution.
