His role in He’s All That
He’s All That was announced by Netflix on March 17, 2021, when the streamer said it had acquired worldwide rights to the film.[2] Netflix’s announcement lists Buchanan in the cast alongside the following names:
- Addison Rae (the film’s lead)
- Madison Pettis
- Peyton Meyer
- Isabella Crovetti
- Annie Jacob
- Myra Molloy
- Rachael Leigh Cook
- Matthew Lillard
Mark Waters is credited as director and R. Lee Fleming Jr. as writer.[2] Neither the Miramax nor the Netflix material identifies the character Buchanan plays, so readers looking for his part in the story should check the film’s credits directly.
#1 Best Overall
The premise
Netflix describes the story as an influencer who accepts a challenge to turn a school’s biggest loser into prom king. Miramax frames it as an influencer’s bet to transform an unpopular classmate.[3] Both descriptions point to the same setup: a popular online personality, a wager, and a makeover goal that drives the plot.
Other screen work: Cobra Kai
Netflix’s season-five feature for Cobra Kai identifies Buchanan as Robby Keene.[4] That feature also carries a statement from fellow cast member Dallas Dupree Young, who said: “Having the opportunity to work with him was surreal for me because I actually watched him growing up and I saw his career evolve.” Netflix Tudum attributes the quote to Young in that article.[4] The feature covers season five, so it documents his role as of that season rather than the series as a whole.
Release and where to watch
Miramax lists He’s All That as a 2021 release, and Netflix’s 2021 announcement said the film would be released globally later that year.[3][2] Miramax’s film page points viewers to Netflix. Those sources establish the original release context, not current streaming availability in any country. Because catalogues change by territory and over time, check Netflix directly for the film’s status where you live.
