Stephen Collins’s former wife is actress Faye Grant, known for the original V series and its follow-up miniseries. They were both actors, so the claim that Grant had a “completely different career” is misleading: the documented difference is in the roles and credits highlighted in reporting. CBS reported that they separated in May 2012 after 27 years together.
Who was Stephen Collins’s wife?
Grant and Collins married in April 1985, according to TV Guide. CBS News reported in May 2012 that they were separating after 27 years together. Collins said in a statement quoted by CBS News, “My wife and I are moving forward separately in our lives.” Grant later told ABC News, “I wish him the very best in whatever path he chooses to take,” in a comment about the filing.

What did Faye Grant do?
TV Guide described Grant as an actress best known for the original V television series and its subsequent miniseries. That establishes a recognizable part of her screen career, but not her current occupation or a complete list of her work.
In 1999, CBS reported that Grant appeared in Drive Me Crazy as Collins’s ex. The same report described Collins as an actor who also wrote novels. These details show different public profiles and selected credits, not different professions: both were described as actors.

Why is Stephen Collins described as disgraced?
In a December 2014 report, ABC News recounted Collins publicly addressing past sexual misconduct involving minors. ABC quoted Collins describing one encounter: “I knew that something unthinkably wrong had just happened that I couldn’t take back.” This is Collins’s own account as reported by ABC; the quotation is not an independent finding, and the cited report does not establish a complete legal history or his current circumstances.
