The wedding ceremony included a personal touch. Scott performed “Four,” a song he wrote for Mark. He described it to PEOPLE this way: “The song is one of my favorite songs I have ever written, as it is a love letter I dedicated to Mark after we had dated for four years, and I can barely sing it without crying.” The “four years” refers to the point at which the song was written, not to the length of the relationship. The couple’s own account puts the time from meeting to wedding at about six years.
Scott also told PEOPLE that he knew early on that Mark was his dream man, which frames how the couple describe their relationship publicly.

Much of the public record about Mark concerns creative projects he and Scott have made together. The main items, with the source for each, are below.
- How Lucky Am I? A children’s book. In a February 2024 Advocate interview, Mark described it as a story about two mayflies who fall in love, due out May 21. In the same interview he said mayflies live 24 hours. That is his statement, not a biological figure checked against an independent source, so it should be read as his explanation rather than established fact.
- M.Y. F.A.M.I.L.Y. A children’s album that TV Insider says Mark and Scott co-wrote.
- A Pentatonix Christmas song. TV Insider says Scott and Mark wrote a song for the group’s album We Need a Little Christmas.
- Parallel. Scott’s solo EP, which he has described as a love letter to Mark. In an interview he said he learned Pro Tools during the pandemic and that the EP has seven tracks.
- Rose Without the Thorns. Scott told BroadwayWorld he began this song as a first-anniversary gift for Mark, and that Mark suggested an a cappella version with Tonality and säje.

The couple’s plans to have children have been public for more than two years, and each stage is dated below because the sources describe different points in time.
- February 2024. Mark said the couple was “in the process” of pursuing children, and Scott said they had been talking about it. These were statements of plans, not a report of a pregnancy.
- December 2025. In a PRIDE interview, Scott said, “Family’s been the theme of this year! We’re starting a family officially.” PRIDE reported that the couple had announced they were expecting their first child via surrogate, with the news shared during Dancing with the Stars Dedication Night.
- June 2026. E! News reported that preparations were under way for a baby girl’s anticipated arrival later that month. The indexed coverage available for this article does not establish whether the birth happened or when, so this article does not state an outcome.
