Rashida Jones’s longtime partner is Ezra Koenig, the lead singer of Vampire Weekend. Jones said in a 2024 interview that they are not legally married, though they sometimes call each other married and consider themselves so “in the eyes of God.”
Who is Ezra Koenig?
Koenig is a musician best known as the frontman of Vampire Weekend. A 2019 GQ profile identified him in that role and reported that he and Jones were living in Los Angeles.
Are Rashida Jones and Ezra Koenig married?
No—not legally, according to Jones. In a 2024 interview with The New Yorker, she corrected the interviewer’s reference to Koenig as her husband: “Oh, we’re not married. We just kind of call each other that. But we are what we are, in the eyes of God!” She also said, “I’m sure we’ll get married at some point, but we basically are.” Her comments describe their relationship in personal terms; they do not establish that the couple has legally married.
Do they have children?
Yes. Jones and Koenig have a son named Isaiah. Contemporary reports place his birth in 2018: GQ referred to the couple having a son that summer in its January 2019 profile, and the Los Angeles Times reported in April 2019 that Jones had given birth the previous summer.

What has Koenig said about keeping their family private?
In a 2019 NME interview, Koenig described them as “pretty private people” while reflecting on how news about their child became public. That comment reflects his description at the time, not necessarily their current preferences.
What is known about when they started dating?
The sources cited here do not establish a precise date when Jones and Koenig began their relationship. Jones described him as her longtime partner in 2024, but neither that description nor the available 2019 coverage provides a start date. There is no need to infer one from the birth of their son or from their public appearances.
