When did Nikki and Michael Haley marry?
The couple married in September 1996 in Hilton Head, South Carolina, according to the Council on Foreign Relations. They met during Nikki Haley’s first weekend at Clemson University. CFR says they held both Methodist and Sikh wedding ceremonies. The Associated Press also reports that they married in 1996 and notes that Haley is Nikki’s married name.
Do Nikki and Michael Haley have children?
They have two children, Rena and Nalin, according to the National Governors Association. Public biographical sources establish those family details; they do not provide a basis for claims about the children’s current private lives.

What is Michael Haley’s military service?
Nikki Haley wrote in a June 18, 2023 essay that her husband joined the National Guard in 2006. She said he deployed to Helmand Province in Afghanistan in 2013, and that he was beginning a nearly year-long deployment to Africa in 2023.
In an Associated Press report published by South Carolina Public Radio on June 18, 2023, Michael Haley was described as a major and a staff officer with the 218th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, supporting the Horn of Africa. That is a dated description of the assignment, not evidence that the deployment or assignment continues today.
