The couple met in middle school, got engaged in January 2021, and married on December 1, 2021, according to the Dodgers’ official player profile. They have two children confirmed by Major League Baseball, with a third child reported in a more recent profile that has not been confirmed by a primary source. Brianna is also known for Honee, a children’s juice brand, and for the charitable foundation she runs with Betts.
Who Brianna Betts is
Brianna Betts is the wife of Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts. Before marrying, she was Brianna Hammonds, and public coverage uses both names. Her public profile centers on family, philanthropy and her work with youth, rather than on a separate career in sports or entertainment.
How they met and got engaged
MLB reports that Mookie and Brianna first met in middle school and had been together for 15 years by January 2021. The engagement was reported by MLB on January 8, 2021. Betts proposed during a dinner that was staged to look like an awards presentation. CC and Amber Sabathia and their family helped set it up.
In comments to People, which MLB reproduced in its engagement report, Betts said: “Brianna has been by my side since we were teenagers.”

The wedding date
The Dodgers’ official player profile lists the couple’s wedding date as December 1, 2021. Wedding details beyond the date, such as the venue or guest list, are not part of the public record in the sources reviewed.
Their children
The couple has at least two children confirmed by MLB and a third child reported in a recent secondary profile. The table below separates the three by how each is documented.
Rank #2
| Child | Reported birth | Source | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kynlee Ivory Betts (daughter) | November 2018 | MLB, January 2021 engagement report | Confirmed by MLB; reported before the couple married |
| Kaj Betts (son) | April 2023 (MLB describes him as the couple’s second child) | MLB, April 2023 | Confirmed by MLB |
| Khari Betts (daughter) | 2026; birth month not stated | TV Insider/Swooon profile, October 3, 2026 | Reported by a secondary profile only; no primary announcement confirming it was found at the time of writing |
The Dodgers’ player profile, which is less current, lists only a daughter and a son. That does not rule out the later report, but it also does not confirm it.
Brianna’s public work
Honee
A TV Insider/Swooon profile published October 3, 2026 describes Brianna as an entrepreneur and philanthropist and names her as the founder of Honee, a children’s juice brand. The product description comes from that profile and has not been verified separately.
Rank #3
The foundation
The profile says Brianna and Mookie created the 5050 Foundation in 2021. MLB’s June 2026 press release refers to the same organization as the 50/50 Foundation. MLB describes its work as serving underserved youth through education, athletics, mentorship, health and wellness, scholarships, youth sports sponsorships, financial literacy and community engagement. MLB’s 2025 coverage says the foundation works in Los Angeles and Nashville.
Charitable activity
- Wildfire relief, 2025: MLB reported that more than $30,000 in Nike clothing was donated to wildfire victims by the 5050 Foundation.
- Brotherhood Crusade, 2025: MLB reported that the 5050 Foundation and the Dodgers Foundation together donated more than $160,000 to Brotherhood Crusade.
- Bowling fundraiser, 2023: MLB’s February 9, 2023 report says the couple’s bowling fundraiser supported Brotherhood Crusade’s 50 Feeds LA initiative and field improvements at John Muir High School.
In an October 27, 2025 MLB report, Brianna explained how the foundation chooses causes: “We go off of our feel and joy in seeing the kids.” In a February 2023 statement quoted by MLB, Mookie described the mission: “Brianna and I are committed to helping break barriers that impact the next generation of children, and what better way to raise money than by bowling for a good cause.”
