Netflix independently describes Buteau as a mother of twins, but its public material does not identify van der Most or confirm the marriage details.
Who is Gijs van der Most?
Van der Most is identified in secondary biographical reporting as Buteau’s husband and as a Dutch photographer. The available reporting does not establish a detailed résumé, a list of clients, or other professional credentials. More specific claims about his education, publications, business interests, or residence are not supported by the stronger sources available here.
When did Michelle Buteau and Gijs van der Most marry?
The biographical reference page reports that Buteau and van der Most married in 2010. That date comes from secondary reporting, rather than the Netflix sources that discuss Buteau’s career and family.
Do Michelle Buteau and Gijs van der Most have children?
The same reference page says the couple have twins, born in January 2019 via surrogacy. Netflix’s April 4, 2025 Tudum interview page independently describes Buteau as a mother of twins, but does not provide their names, birth details, or the identity of their other parent. What is known about Buteau’s work?
Netflix’s official title page identifies Michelle Buteau: A Buteau-ful Mind at Radio City Music Hall as her 2024 stand-up special and says it discusses raising twins. Netflix’s July 2, 2026 Tudum article reported that the third and final season of Survival of the Thickest was then streaming, and described the series as inspired by Buteau’s acclaimed book of essays. Those are career details about Buteau, not evidence about van der Most’s work or the couple’s relationship. Streaming catalogs and availability can change.
What should readers know about the available information?
