Melania’s public comments also establish that she regards Ines as both family and a friend. In a CNN interview segment transcript dated March 10, 2017, Melania said: “My sister, Ines, who is an incredible woman and a friend”.
Is Ines Melania Trump’s closest friend?
That description appears in a February 2017 Inside Edition report, which said Ines was “said to be” Melania’s closest confidante and best friend. The qualification matters: the report characterizes their relationship, but the available sources do not show Melania personally ranking Ines above all her other friends or using that exact superlative herself.

Ines was reportedly Melania’s maid of honor
Inside Edition’s 2017 report said Ines served as maid of honor at Melania’s 2005 wedding to Donald Trump. This is a detail attributed to that outlet’s reporting.
