A December 22, 2021 Tudum interview described him as 29 at that time; that dated age should not be treated as his current age. Who does Laviscount play in Emily in Paris?
He plays Alfie, a British-born banker introduced in season 2. Alfie first meets Emily in her French class. Laviscount told Tudum that he sent in an audition and received a call an hour later asking him to meet series creator Darren Star and star Lily Collins the next day. He prepared script pages for what he expected would be a chemistry test. Instead, the planned 20-minute conversation lasted about an hour, and Star and Collins did not ask him to perform the memorized pages. The account appears in Tudum’s December 2021 interview.

What has Laviscount said about Alfie and filming in Paris?
In a TIME interview, Laviscount said Alfie’s guarded sarcasm reflects the loneliness of being in a new city. He contrasted the character’s outlook with his own: “I like to see the beauty and good in most things, until something gives me a reason not to—that’s where myself and Alfie differ.”
He also said that filming the series was his first time in Paris and that he struggled with French, prompting him to take online French classes. “I was charmed the second I got off the plane,” he told TIME. How is the real Lucien Laviscount different from Alfie?
