Their relationship timeline
Most of the chronology below comes from ELLE’s February 2026 profile of the couple, which in turn draws on other outlets for some details. The dates are the ones reported, not dates confirmed from the couple’s own records.
| Milestone | Date as reported | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Larter and MacArthur first connect while filming Homo Erectus | 2005 | ELLE, February 2026 profile |
| Engagement | 2007 | ELLE, February 2026 profile |
| Marriage | 2009 | ELLE, February 2026 profile |
| Son Theodore Hayes is about four years old | January 2015 | ABC News, reporting on the daughter’s birth |
| Daughter Vivienne Margaret is born | January 15, 2015 | ABC News |
| Family moves to Idaho | 2020 | Larter, in an interview with ELLE (2025) |
Homo Erectus is listed in film-industry records under that title and also as National Lampoon’s The Stoned Age, with both actors in the cast. The records confirm the shared production, not the couple’s personal history on set.
Their children
- Theodore Hayes, the couple’s son. ABC News described him as a four-year-old when his sister was born in January 2015.
- Vivienne Margaret, the couple’s daughter, born January 15, 2015, according to ABC News.
Larter has spoken about raising children while both parents work as actors, a subject covered in a January 2026 podcast listing. The listing is a summary of topics, not a transcript, so it does not provide her exact words on that point.

Larter’s role on Landman
Larter plays the former wife of the oilman played by Billy Bob Thornton in Landman. That role is why the series appears in searches about her husband. Paramount+ lists her character as Angela Harris, while ELLE’s 2025 interview refers to the character as Angela Norris. Check the episode credits for the season you are watching if the exact name matters to you.
In the same 2025 interview, Larter describes her career from Varsity Blues and the Final Destination films through Legally Blonde, Heroes, and Resident Evil to Landman, and calls playing Angela one of the most pressurized set experiences of her career.

These are her own reasons as she described them; they are not independently verified facts about the family’s decision.
What Larter has said about marriage
ELLE’s February 2026 profile attributes the following advice to Larter from a November 2025 People interview: “Enjoy every day. Try to be really kind.” The line is reported secondhand through ELLE, so quote it as Larter’s words as relayed by that profile. A direct quote from MacArthur on the same topics was not available in the sources reviewed.
