How and where they married
The Kentucky Music Hall of Fame and Museum records that Richardson announced his engagement to Kristin Kay Willits on MTV in February 2000. The museum’s account says the couple married on June 17 of that year at Cathedral Domain, a venue in Lee County, Kentucky. It is the clearest published source for both the date and the location.
What Richardson has said about her
In an interview with ABILITY Magazine, Richardson referred to her as “My wife Kristin” and described her as an actor who had performed on Broadway. He also said the two were developing ideas together. In the same interview he said, “My wife Kristin and I are developing quite a few ideas.” The interview is the best first-person source for how he describes her professionally, though it does not go into detail about her career.

Children: what dated reports say
Two press reports describe the couple’s children, but both are old and should not be read as a current picture of the family:
- CBS News, April 15, 2013: reported that the couple had a five-year-old son, Mason, and were expecting a second child.
- Entertainment Tonight, August 5, 2016: reported that the couple had two sons, Mason and Maxwell.
Neither report establishes anything about the family as of today, so treat them only as a record of what was reported in those years.
