Who Is Jiang Xuequin? The “Chinese Nostradamus” and His Forecast About Trump and Iran

Jiang Xueqin is a Beijing-based history lecturer described in March 2026 reporting as the public face of the Predictive History channel. In a 2024 lecture, he forecast that Donald Trump would win the U.S. presidential election, that the United States would go to war with Iran, and that the United States would lose that war. March 2026 coverage treated the first two forecasts as having happened and the third as unresolved—not as a confirmed outcome. The cited sources spell his name “Xueqin”; the supplied headline’s “Xuequin” is a variant spelling.

Who is Jiang Xueqin?

March 2026 reporting describes Jiang Xueqin as a Beijing-based history lecturer at Moonshot Academy and the person behind Predictive History, a channel focused on forecasting. The sources cited here do not establish a fuller list of academic credentials.

Some coverage calls him “China’s Nostradamus.” That is a media nickname, not a formal title or evidence that his forecasts are consistently accurate. His name appears as “Jiang Xueqin” in the cited sources, although the assignment headline uses “Xuequin.” IBTimes UK’s March 2026 profile provides the cited description and nickname.

What did Jiang Xueqin predict about Trump and Iran?

A March 2026 Breaking Points interview transcript recalls three forecasts Jiang made in a 2024 lecture:

  1. Donald Trump would win the November U.S. presidential election.
  2. The United States would go to war with Iran.
  3. The United States would lose that war, changing the global order.

The transcript quotes Jiang’s third forecast as: “The third big prediction is that the United States will lose this war, which will forever change the global order.” The interview treated the election and war forecasts as having happened, while the prediction of a U.S. loss remained open. Read the Breaking Points transcript.

Has his prediction that the U.S. will lose the Iran war come true?

The cited March 2026 sources do not establish that the United States had lost the war. The phrase “will lose” describes Jiang’s forecast, not a settled result. The Breaking Points interview treated the outcome as unresolved; it does not independently adjudicate what the eventual outcome would be.

A critical account published March 2, 2026, adds an important distinction: it said Jiang’s more specific scenario of a joint ground invasion had not occurred by that publication date, and characterized the conflict at the time as an air and missile campaign. That is a dated account, not a current battlefield update. Read the March 2, 2026 analysis.

This distinction matters when judging the forecast. The broad prediction of war and the detailed scenario of a ground invasion are different claims; reporting that the first occurred does not mean every part of the second did.

How does Jiang explain his forecast?

In the Breaking Points interview, Jiang describes the conflict as a war of attrition and argues that Iran is better prepared for a prolonged confrontation. He invokes Athens’ Sicilian Expedition as a historical analogy and argues that air power alone may not achieve regime change. These are Jiang’s arguments as recorded in the interview, not independently verified findings about military capacity or likely outcomes.

A separate Jiang Lens transcript records him discussing differences between U.S. and Iranian strategy and pressure on the global economy. That material likewise establishes his perspective, not neutral confirmation of the underlying claims. Read the Jiang Lens transcript.

How should readers assess Predictive History?

A 2025 Jiang Lens interview presents Predictive History as an approach that should make forecasts capable of failing and be judged against its predictions. It also records Jiang cautioning that short-term forecasting can be difficult. The page includes an editorial summary as well as transcript excerpts, so this is a description of the method attributed to that interview—not proof of predictive accuracy. Read the 2025 interview page.

For this Iran forecast, the useful test is to keep the claims separate: whether Trump won, whether the United States entered a war with Iran, whether the United States lost, and whether the more specific ground-invasion scenario happened. The March 2026 coverage supports treating the first two as fulfilled at that time, while the loss remained a forecast and the critical account said the ground-invasion detail had not occurred by its publication date.
