Bunnie Xo, whose name is Alisa DeFord, built a public career as a podcast host, social media personality and memoirist while married to country singer Jelly Roll, whose name is Jason DeFord. Their relationship became part of her public story, but the available reporting does not show that marriage alone caused her career to change. Jelly Roll filed for divorce in 2026, so she is his wife in the story of their marriage, not necessarily today.
Who is Jelly Roll’s wife?
Bunnie Xo is the stage name of Alisa DeFord. The Associated Press identifies Jelly Roll as Jason DeFord and reports that the couple married in Las Vegas in 2016. They met the year before, according to TV Insider’s 2025 retrospective.

Jelly Roll publicly credited Bunnie with helping him change his life. In his Grammy acceptance speech, as reported by the AP, he told her: “I would have never changed my life without you. I would have ended up dead or in jail.” That is his account of her influence, not evidence that she alone was responsible for his choices or recovery.
What does Bunnie Xo do?
Podcasting and her public brand
TV Insider describes Bunnie as the host of the Dumb Blonde podcast and a social media influencer. Its account presents her media work as part of a brand she built in her own right, rather than simply an extension of Jelly Roll’s career. TV Insider’s relationship and career retrospective also reports that she has spoken about prioritizing her own income and independence.

Memoir publishing
In February 2026, Bunnie published Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic, according to Good Housekeeping and SiriusXM. The memoir is a major step in her public work: it puts her own story, rather than her role as a musician’s spouse, at the center.
Good Housekeeping reported that Jelly Roll told People, “I’m just proud of her for telling her story so unapologetically.” SiriusXM’s February 17, 2026 coverage of Bunnie’s appearance on The Howard Stern Show says she discussed the book alongside subjects including her marriage, past sex work, an arrest and financial experiences. Those are topics she discussed, not independently verified findings about every detail.

How did her career change after marriage?
The reporting describes overlapping parts of Bunnie’s life, not a proven before-and-after transformation caused by marriage. TV Insider recounts her emphasis on continuing to work and earn her own money after marrying. In a 2024 post quoted by the outlet, she said Jelly Roll did not ask her to give up that independence.
That context matters: her marriage brought public attention and became part of how audiences encountered her, but her podcast, brand and memoir are work she pursued herself. Jelly Roll’s public praise and her own account of independence can both be true without reducing her career to a consequence of the relationship.

What has Bunnie said about family and becoming a parent?
In January 2025, ABC News reported that Bunnie said she felt ready to become a parent after working through trauma connected to her parents. “I just feel like I’ve been healing so much trauma with my parents that I finally am ready to be a parent,” she said, as quoted by ABC. The outlet also reported that she had helped raise Jelly Roll’s daughter, Bailee, from age seven.
ABC reported that the couple announced an IVF journey in June 2024 and later discussed surrogacy. Those are historical reports of plans and conversations; they do not establish a current plan or outcome.

Are Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo still married?
No. The AP reported in 2026 that Jelly Roll filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. The filing listed May 9 as the separation date. The AP described the marriage as having lasted ten years. That update changes the present-tense framing: Bunnie was his wife during their marriage, but the reported filing means they should not be described as currently married.
