How is he connected to JFK Jr.?
Schlossberg is JFK Jr.’s nephew, not his son. The Associated Press reported wider public interest in JFK Jr. look-alikes amid renewed attention to the Kennedy family and the television series Love Story. That coverage does not establish that Schlossberg himself is a verified lookalike of his uncle, so the phrase is best understood as framing rather than a confirmed description.
Did Jack Schlossberg run for Congress?
Yes. Federal Election Commission records identify Schlossberg as a Democratic candidate for New York’s 12th congressional district in the 2026 election cycle and list Jack for New York as his principal campaign committee. His campaign website says he was born and raised in the district and that his family has lived there for five generations; those local-history claims come from the campaign.

Campaign priorities
Schlossberg’s campaign listed campaign-finance and election reform, affordability, and economic opportunity among its priorities. These are the themes identified by his campaign, not a complete or independently assessed policy platform.
In his campaign announcement, Schlossberg criticized President Donald Trump and Republican governance. The Associated Press quoted him saying, “It’s a crisis at every level.” The line was his campaign message, not an independent finding about conditions in the country.

What happened in the 2026 primary?
Schlossberg lost the June 23, 2026 Democratic primary for New York’s 12th congressional district to state Assembly Member Micah Lasher, the Associated Press reported.
New York’s election-night results page listed Schlossberg with 11,036 votes, or 10.73%, in the primary. Those figures are unofficial: the state warns that preliminary results may change as ballots are processed and results are certified. They should not be treated as the certified final tally.

The Associated Press described Schlossberg as a social-media personality and reported his online criticism of his cousin Robert F. Kennedy Jr. In its campaign coverage, the AP also reported that Schlossberg criticized Love Story, a television series about John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette. His family name and the wider resurgence of interest in the Kennedys formed part of the attention around his run.
