Netflix’s official Season 2 cast guide makes the reveal and names Isaac as Francoise’s brother and Tyler’s uncle. He is the season’s main antagonist, and his attempt to cure Francoise’s Hyde condition is what drives the conflict.
Slurp is a Season 2 reveal, not a separate character
Viewers first meet Isaac under the name Slurp. The name change is a plot twist rather than a new cast member: Netflix’s Season 2 cast guide explicitly identifies Slurp as Isaac Night. Once that link is made, the character’s role in the Galpin family and the Addams family’s history makes more sense.
How Isaac connects to the characters around him
Isaac’s ties run in two directions. The Galpin side is family; the Addams side is a school friendship from Nevermore. The table below lists each connection as Netflix’s official Season 2 material describes it.
| Character | Relationship to Isaac | Source as described |
|---|---|---|
| Francoise | Sister. She is a Hyde, and Isaac’s experiment is aimed at her condition. | Netflix’s Season 2 cast guide; Netflix’s finale explainer |
| Tyler | Nephew (Isaac is Tyler’s uncle). | Netflix’s Season 2 cast guide |
| Gomez Addams | Former Nevermore roommate. Netflix’s interview calls him Gomez’s long-lost roommate. | Netflix’s Isaac and Owen Painter interview |
| Thing | Originally Isaac’s right hand, before Thing developed its own place with the Addams family. | Netflix’s Isaac and Owen Painter interview |
The cure attempt behind the villainy
Isaac was a Nevermore student and a scientific genius. Netflix’s finale explainer says he worked out what he believed was a permanent cure for his Hyde sister, Francoise. That is the show’s account of his aim, not a medically established fact. The episodes present the attempt as the source of the dangerous consequences that follow, and the explainer treats those consequences as the reason he becomes a direct threat in the finale.

- This Trends Wednesday - One Sheet Wall Poster uses high-resolution artwork and is printed on PhotoArt Gloss Poster Paper which enhances colors with a high-quality look and feel
- High-quality art print is ready-to-frame or can be hung on the wall using poster mounts, clips, pushpins, or thumb tacks
- Officially Licensed wall poster
- Easily decorate any space to create the perfect decor for a party, bedroom, bathroom, kids room, living room, office, dorm, and more
- Perfect size for any room; poster is 22.375" x 34"
Because the official material gives the belief and the outcome in summary form, avoid describing the cure as proven or successful. What the show establishes is that Isaac pursued it and that the fallout reaches the Galpin family’s supernatural history.
Why Thing matters to the finale
The most useful detail for understanding the finale is that Thing began as Isaac’s right hand. That origin turns the conflict between Isaac and Thing into a personal one. Thing is not only an opponent; it is part of Isaac’s history, and the Addams household is now part of Thing’s story as well.

Why Isaac is the season’s villain
The official Woecast listing for the Season 2 episode quotes host Caitlin Reilly describing Owen Painter, who plays Isaac, as “sort of the big bad villain this season, he is such an incredible new character.” The label comes from that broadcast commentary, and it fits the plot: Isaac’s family ties, his scientific project, and his link to Thing all place him at the center of the conflict.
Explanations of his deeper motives go beyond what the official material states. The clearest reading stays with the revealed facts: a brilliant student tries to fix a sister’s condition, the attempt goes wrong, and he becomes a threat to the people around him.

What the official sources do not settle
- Netflix’s material does not include a complete episode transcript, so exact scene-by-scene wording and the precise order of events should be checked against the episodes themselves.
- The official sources state the family and school relationships and the Thing origin, but they do not give a fuller account of Isaac’s motives than the cure attempt.
- No figures or statistics about the character are part of the official material, and none are needed to explain his role.
For the identity and relationships, Netflix’s Season 2 cast guide and interview material are the primary references. For the cure attempt, use Netflix’s finale explainer, and for the villain label, the official Woecast listing.
