Doctor Doom and Steve Rogers
- Robert Downey Jr. is Victor von Doom, also known as Doctor Doom.

Disney’s 2025 announcement described Doom as a new role for Downey, who previously played Tony Stark/Iron Man in ten films. Downey is not identified as playing Stark in Doomsday.

Why do some reports say 27 cast members?
Disney’s March 2025 reveal and its current page describe different snapshots. The March 26 announcement listed an initial group of 27 actors and said production had begun. The current page lists 30, including Chris Evans, Kathryn Newton, Mabel Cadena and Robert Downey Jr. (whose Doctor Doom casting had already been announced in 2024).

Disney’s March 28 recap said the cast reveal took five hours and 27 minutes and unveiled 27 cast-member chairs. Those figures describe the presentation, not the current total. The recap also quoted Marvel Studios’ teaser: “There’s always room for more…”—another reason not to assume that the initial chairs represented a closed roster. Disney’s recap of the reveal and its March 26 announcement provide the dated context.
