On Valentine’s Day in February 2025, Fanning posted a tribute to Wenner that read, “✨Happy Valentine’s✨Love of my life✨I got your back always✨,” according to Us Weekly’s report. Wenner replied, “Everyday is valentines day my love 💜🪽🍦✨ you are my heart.” These were affectionate social-media captions, not comments about marriage or private plans.

First linked in 2023
Us Weekly’s relationship timeline says Fanning and Wenner were first linked in November 2023, after they were seen on a dinner date in New York. The outlet reports that they attended the Golden Globes together in January 2024.
Public appearances in 2024
A December 2024 Teen Vogue profile identified Wenner as Fanning’s boyfriend and noted that they attended the Musicians on Musicians event at Harlem’s Apollo Theater in November. The interviewer is Wenner’s sibling, a personal connection that gives the profile a perspective distinct from an independent celebrity interview.

Fanning’s comments in 2025
In a September 2025 Vanity Fair interview with her sister Dakota, as quoted by Us Weekly, Fanning said, “If your partner doesn’t post you on Instagram, that’s a red flag. I love my boyfriend, and we’re going to post each other.” She also said, “I’m so happy. And Dakota loves him. That’s the seal of approval.” Dakota recalled meeting Wenner at a Las Vegas party and joked, “I used some stern words. Just warnings, cautions said with a smile.”
The latest reported appearance
Us Weekly reports that Fanning and Wenner attended the January 2026 Golden Globes together. That is a dated public appearance, not confirmation of their private relationship status on any later date.

Who is Gus Wenner?
Wenner is a media executive associated with Rolling Stone. Us Weekly reports that he grew up in New York City and Idaho, attended Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, and graduated in 2012. His parents are Jane Schindelheim and Jann Wenner, Rolling Stone’s cofounder with Ralph J. Gleason.
His Rolling Stone roles have changed over time: he served as president and COO from 2017 to 2022, became CEO in January 2022, and moved to executive chairman in May 2025, when Julian Holguin became CEO, according to Us Weekly. Teen Vogue described Wenner as CEO in its December 2024 profile, reflecting his title at that time.
