Chloe Troast is a stand-up, improv, and sketch comedian who joined Saturday Night Live as a featured player for Season 49 (2023–24). She did not return for Season 50. Because the “new cast member” label describes her first season, this article treats her as a former cast member, not a current one. The reporting behind it dates from 2023 and 2024, so it cannot confirm her status in later seasons.
Her SNL timeline
The key dates come from the Associated Press, TVLine, and NBCUniversal’s Peacock cast guide:

| Date | What was reported | Source |
|---|---|---|
| October 4, 2023 | Troast joined the Season 49 cast as a featured player. | Associated Press |
| October 14, 2023 | Season 49 was scheduled to premiere, with Troast as the new featured player. | Associated Press |
| September 9, 2024 | Troast said on Instagram that she had not been asked back for Season 50. | TVLine, quoting her post |
| September 2024 | Peacock’s cast guide listed her among the Season 49 performers who would not return. | Peacock cast guide |
The AP reported that Troast was the only new addition to the returning cast for Season 49. Her tenure therefore covers one season, and the cast change that matters to readers is her absence from Season 50, not her arrival.
Who she is before SNL
TVLine describes Troast as a New Jersey native who works across stand-up, improv, and sketch comedy. Its October 2023 profile lists three credits that predate her SNL role:

- DOHL’S, an animated series that was featured in Adult Swim’s Smalls shorts program.
- Appearances in a New York comedy showcase and at other comedy venues. TVLine did not name the venues in the material reviewed for this article.
These details come from TVLine’s reporting and are not a full account of her career. For her own account of joining the show, the official SNL channel published a New Cast Q&A with her on October 18, 2023.
Her 2024 statement about Season 50
In an Instagram post on Monday, September 9, 2024, as TVLine reproduced it, Troast wrote:

“Unfortunately I was not asked back to ‘SNL’ this season. I wish I was going back to be with all the amazing friends I made there, it truly felt like home. But it wasn’t in the cards.”
Peacock’s cast guide from the same month listed her among the Season 49 members who would not return. Together, these sources establish what Troast said and who was listed as leaving. They do not establish why the production made that decision.
What the reporting does not establish
- The reasons behind the Season 50 casting decision.
- Her birth date, education, and detailed personal background.
- Her current projects, or any work after September 2024.
- Whether she has appeared on the show in any season after Season 49.
Watching her SNL work
Peacock’s September 2024 cast guide described live, next-day, and past-season SNL viewing on the service at that time. Two years have passed since then, so check Peacock’s current catalog before assuming any season is available there.
