How did Alice Cooper meet his wife?
Cooper said in a 2006 interview with The Guardian that he met Sheryl when she danced in his Welcome to My Nightmare show. The interview described her then as a ballet teacher; that is a dated description, not confirmation of her current occupation. Read the 2006 interview.
The show was part of the theatrical touring era associated with Cooper’s first solo album, Welcome to My Nightmare, released in 1975. His official biography connects the album with a theatrical concert tour. See Alice Cooper’s official biography.

Why do some articles give different anniversary counts?
Marriage-duration figures in later interviews are tied to when those articles appeared. A 2022 republication described the marriage as 45 years long, while a 2023 republication called Goddard his wife of 47 years. These are publication-year descriptions, not current anniversary counts. In the 2023 interview, Cooper said, “She’s been performing in the shows almost as long as I have.” Read the 2023 interview republication.
