After losing her daughter, she mistakes Aira for that child, and their confrontation ends with Silky giving up her spiritual energy to revive Aira before disappearing. She is an early antagonist in the series, not a character established here as the manga’s newest villain.
Who is Acrobatic Silky?
Acrobatic Silky is a yokai in Dandadan, recognizable by her red dress, long, flowing hair and agile, acrobatic movement. The official anime character profile says she appears to have a connection to Aira, and lists Kikuko Inoue as her Japanese voice actor.
Why does Silky think Aira is her daughter?
ABEMA’s December 17, 2024 character and episode guide explains that Silky was once a human mother whose daughter was taken from her. After Aira encountered Silky as a child and called her “mother,” Silky came to believe that Aira was her own daughter. Years later, Aira can perceive spirits but does not recognize Silky. That painful mismatch helps drive Silky’s violence.
The account does not establish what ultimately happened to Silky’s biological daughter. It also does not say that the daughter was Aira’s mother or that the two families are related.

What happens to Acrobatic Silky?
Silky’s confrontation with Aira and Momo is more than a monster fight. She threatens both girls and swallows Momo, but Momo’s actions lead Silky to release them. Aira, however, has died. Silky’s remaining maternal attachment turns the outcome: she gives Aira her spiritual energy to revive her, then disappears. The plot details here follow ABEMA’s episode guide; the official profile itself only briefly notes Silky’s connection to Aira.
Where does Acrobatic Silky appear in the anime and manga?
According to ABEMA’s guide, Silky first appears in the anime in Season 1, Episode 6, and in the manga in volume 2, chapter 13. The anime focuses on her human past in the following episode, giving that history more room than the brief manga scene.

In a December 10, 2024 Popverse interview, producer Hiroshi Kamei described the production work on Episode 7: “Episode 7 is where the layout and movements are meticulously refined. Showcasing a high level of detail in the animation. I believe the studio underwent a great deal of trial and error during the production process.” The quote concerns the anime’s production; it is not a statement about manga creator Yukinobu Tatsu’s intent.
Is Acrobatic Silky based on Japanese folklore?
Tatsu has said in a Shueisha MANGA Plus interview that he researches Japanese folklore while developing the series’ supernatural beings and incorporates elements he finds interesting or useful. That general description provides context for Dandadan, but it does not identify a specific folklore source for Acrobatic Silky.

Why the “latest villain” label needs qualification
The available character and episode references place Silky in an early arc of the first anime season. They do not establish her as the latest antagonist in the ongoing manga. She is best understood here as a memorable early villain whose story shifts from menace to tragedy.
