Entertainment coverage has also linked him to Shelley Duvall and Vicki Hodge, but the available evidence for those claims is much thinner. No verified public record establishes every person Starr ever dated or was rumored to have dated.
Maureen Cox, later Maureen Starkey
Maureen Cox was Starr’s first wife. They married in 1965, and their marriage ended in divorce in 1975. The Washington Post reported that the divorce was on grounds of adultery; that is the reported legal basis, not a complete account of their private life. Biography.com’s profile of Starr provides basic biographical details, while the 1992 Washington Post profile reports the divorce.
Nancy Lee Andrews
Photographer Nancy Lee Andrews has described a six-year relationship with Starr, dating it from 1974 to 1980. In a 2022 interview, she said the relationship ended when Starr met Barbara Bach while filming Caveman in 1980. This timeline is Andrews’s first-person account; it should not be treated as an independently established record of every detail or as proof of a precise overlap with another relationship. The interview also discusses her book, A Dose of Rock ’n’ Roll. Read the 2022 interview with Andrews.
Barbara Bach
Starr’s own recollection places the start of his relationship with actor Barbara Bach during the 1980 filming of Caveman. In a reproduced 1981 interview, he said he had a girlfriend when he and Bach met, and that there was “no official engagement” at that point: “We’re just lovers in love. We don’t have an official engagement.” This is Starr’s account of the beginning of the relationship, not a precise chronology of the end of his prior relationship. He and Bach married in 1981. The reproduced 1981 interview excerpt preserves Starr’s remarks; the marriage date is also reported by the Washington Post. A 2025 Atlantic profile described Bach as Starr’s wife at the time it was published, establishing their status as of March 31, 2025, rather than making a claim about any later date. Read the profile.

Shelley Duvall and Vicki Hodge: reported links, limited support
A 2025 Cosmopolitan dating-history article includes a brief alleged link between Starr and actor Shelley Duvall in 1978, while acknowledging that little is known about it, including whether Starr and Andrews were on a break. The article also repeats a claim that model Vicki Hodge was among Starr’s former lovers. The material available here does not corroborate either claim as strongly as the marriage reporting, Andrews’s first-person account, or Starr’s own recollection about Bach. They belong in a list of people he has been linked to—not as confirmed relationships. Read Cosmopolitan’s dating-history article.
How certain is this list?
The accounts differ in evidentiary strength. Marriage and divorce reporting establishes Cox/Starkey and Bach as spouses; Andrews gives her own account of a relationship; Starr speaks directly about meeting Bach and their relationship’s early stage. Duvall and Hodge appear in entertainment dating-history coverage, but the links are less firmly documented in the available sources. The most accurate answer to “all” is therefore a qualified one: these are the names supported by the cited public accounts, not a verified, exhaustive register of everyone Starr may have dated or been rumored to date.
