Nick Zano (2011 to 2014)
Zano is the earliest relationship in the public record. Us Weekly’s August 2016 report said Dennings had dated him during roughly 2011 to 2014. That is the only account of the relationship’s timing that the reporting provides. Neither Dennings nor Zano has been quoted describing the relationship in the coverage reviewed for this article, so treat the dates as a single outlet’s account rather than confirmed by the couple.

Josh Groban (2014 to 2016)
Groban is the relationship with the most coverage. Dennings met him through her 2 Broke Girls co-star Beth Behrs. In an October 2014 ABC News report, Dennings explained the introduction:
“She’s always talked about how great he is,” Dennings said of Beth Behrs. “They’ve been friends for years. And she thought we were both, you know, nerds. So there, she was right.”

ABC News reported the two as dating in October 2014. In a June 9, 2015 report, Groban spoke about their time together, describing trips to New York and a visit to the musical Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder. ABC described him as her boyfriend in that piece. Us Weekly reported in summer 2016 that the couple had split after nearly two years together.
Andrew W.K. (2021 onward)
Dennings and Andrew W.K. are the only pairing in this list who have publicly confirmed a relationship together. The Knot reported that they confirmed the relationship and announced their engagement on May 13, 2021. A 2022 Bustle interview, originally published in February 2022, referred to him as her fiancé and discussed the engagement.

The 2014 tweet is not evidence of a relationship
Readers often connect the two names through an August 24, 2014 post from Dennings to W.K.: “You are a tall drink of milk AWK.” That exchange is a documented public flirtation, not proof that they were dating in 2014. In the later Bustle interview, Dennings said she did not remember writing it and described her long admiration for his music: “I’ve always been a huge fan of him and his music — he was obviously just a talented, amazing genius. I’ve just always admired him. And so it is a very strange and magical update to that story.”
