Why does Season 2 end with Jeremiah?
Season 2 is an intermediate stopping point, not the end of the TV story. Belly chooses Jeremiah at that season’s conclusion after their feelings rekindle. Season 3 continues the story and eventually resolves Belly’s relationship with Conrad. Amazon’s Season 3 recap distinguishes that Season 2 choice from the later continuation.

Amazon has announced a feature film directed by Jenny Han to conclude the screen story. The official film announcement says plot specifics are under wraps, so the film’s events should not be treated as known. The announcement also quotes Han: “To have the opportunity to take my books from page to screen, and to see fans embrace it with so much excitement, has been a dream come true.”
