Jacksepticeye’s Thankmas 2024 supported two mental health organizations: Samaritans, which works across the UK and Ireland, and US-based Crisis Text Line. The live fundraiser took place at Los Angeles’s Orpheum Theater on December 6, 2024, and Crisis Text Line later reported that the campaign raised more than $3.4 million for the two charities.
Which charities partnered with Thankmas 2024?
The beneficiaries were Samaritans and Crisis Text Line. Samaritans described itself as the first charity working across the UK and Ireland to be selected for Thankmas. Crisis Text Line was the US-based partner. The two organizations were not interchangeable services: their stated geographies and support channels differed.
| Organization | Geography and support | How Thankmas funds were intended to help |
|---|---|---|
| Samaritans | Worked across the UK and Ireland. The campaign highlighted online chat and email services, alongside volunteer support. | Its share was intended for its Digital Transformation Project, including online chat and email services, and volunteer recruitment and training. |
| Crisis Text Line | Described by the campaign as US-based, offering support through text, WhatsApp, and online chat. The campaign did not establish that every channel had identical geographic availability. | It was the second charity receiving an equal share of funds raised. |
Samaritans’ Thankmas 2024 campaign page described the partnership and the planned use of its share. Crisis Text Line’s Thankmas page also confirmed its role as a beneficiary.
When was the event, and how did fundraising work?
The live event was held on Friday, December 6, 2024, at Los Angeles’s Orpheum Theater and streamed on Jacksepticeye’s YouTube channel. Samaritans said creator fundraising ran from December 1 through December 31 on Tiltify.

Under the campaign’s historical rules, fundraisers who wanted eligibility for campaign rewards, shout-outs, and inclusion in the official total were directed to create a Tiltify fundraising page. Samaritans also listed JustGiving and Enthuse as ways to raise money for the charity, but said those pages would not count toward the official Thankmas total. Those were rules for the 2024 campaign, not confirmation of routes for any later event.
How much was raised?
In a post-event release dated December 10, 2024, Crisis Text Line reported that Thankmas had raised more than $3.4 million for Samaritans and Crisis Text Line. That was the reported result; the campaign’s earlier language about raising millions described its aspiration before the event.

The page described Samaritans’ share as supporting work to develop digital services and recruit and train volunteers for round-the-clock support.
What was Samaritans’ specific fundraising goal?
Before the event, Samaritans said £1.1 million had already been raised toward its Digital Transformation Project and that Thankmas 2024 aimed to match that amount, reaching £2.2 million. This was the stated target, not a verified final amount for the project. Samaritans also said Thankmas had raised over $26 million since its 2020 launch; that was the campaign page’s cumulative figure, not an independently audited total.

Why were these organizations chosen?
Jacksepticeye, identified by Samaritans as Sean McLoughlin, connected the partnership to mental health awareness and support. The campaign page attributed this statement to him: “Anyone who follows my channel, or even in passing, knows I talk a lot about mental health awareness and self care. Having support and helping provide it is something very important to me, so Samaritans and Crisis Text Line felt like the perfect fit for Thankmas this year.”
