Skibidi Toilet was created by animator Alexey Gerasimov, who publishes on YouTube as DaFuq!?Boom! Gerasimov said the first video began as a parody of a TikTok creator’s version of the “skibidi dop dop yes yes” meme—and as a spur-of-the-moment gag about a head appearing from a toilet.
Who invented Skibidi Toilet?
Alexey Gerasimov is the creator of the Skibidi Toilet series. He made it for his YouTube channel, DaFuq!?Boom!, as reported by The Washington Post and The Guardian. Gerasimov is the animator and series creator; the meme performer and musicians associated with its inspirations are not the creators of the show.
What inspired the first video?
In a 2023 interview with Dexerto, Gerasimov said he parodied TikTok creator Paryss Bryanne’s take on the “skibidi dop dop yes yes” meme. He described Bryanne’s quick movements and cuts as part of the inspiration, while the toilet itself came from a random comic idea: an unexpected head popping out of a toilet.
The series’ recognizable audio draws on a mashup associated with Timbaland’s 2007 song “Give It to Me” and Biser King’s 2022 song “Dom Dom,” according to The Washington Post. Those musical sources help explain the sound and title, but authorship belongs to Gerasimov.

How did a toilet gag become a series?
The early premise was absurdist toilet humor. The videos developed into an ongoing animated conflict between singing toilets with human heads and humanoid characters whose heads are cameras, speakers, or televisions. Contemporary coverage described the story as increasingly developed by 2023. Gerasimov told Cartoon Brew, “At first, I tried to make something unexpected and silly.”
How it was made
In interviews published in 2023, Gerasimov described using Source Filmmaker and handling animation, direction, writing, and editing himself, with help obtaining assets. He told Dexerto that the software suited his workflow and gave him access to assets. This describes his reported approach at the time of those interviews, not necessarily the production process for every later episode.
