There is no verified public ranking of the nine most unsafe and eight safest wrestlers on WWE’s roster. WWE publishes a roster and describes its concussion-clearance policy, but neither source rates performers against one another. The clearest recent firsthand comment located is Ryback’s personal view that most of the people he worked with were safe, with Dolph Ziggler and The Miz standing out to him.
Why a definitive 9-and-8 ranking is not supported
“Safe to work with” is best understood here as an attributed assessment of how a wrestler protects a partner and coordinates physical performance—not as a promise that injuries will not happen. The sources available do not provide a standard definition or a roster-wide measure of that quality.
WWE’s Superstars page is a roster reference, not a safety assessment. WWE’s FAQ explains concussion screening and return clearance, but does not publish individual results or compare wrestlers. Neither source can substantiate a top-nine or top-eight list.
A reported injury is not, by itself, proof that a performer acted unsafely. One incident cannot establish a pattern, explain all the circumstances, or assign responsibility. A retrospective account of notable injuries likewise does not provide a consistent method for ranking current performers.

What Ryback said about safe partners
In a post on X reported by 411Mania on August 8, 2026, Ryback described his own experience: “Throughout my career, pretty much everyone I worked with was safe, and I never really had any issues with anyone being consistently unsafe.” He added: “With that said, two guys who always stood out to me were Dolph Ziggler and The Miz.”
This is a named wrestler’s personal assessment, reported secondhand by 411Mania—not an independent safety study or a ranking of WWE’s current roster. Ryback’s qualification matters: he said most of the people he worked with were safe and singled out two who stood out to him. His comment does not establish that Ziggler and The Miz are objectively the safest wrestlers, or that other performers are unsafe.

What WWE’s concussion policy does—and does not—show
WWE says its Talent Wellness Program includes tests of brain function, including memory, processing speed and reaction time. Its FAQ states: “If a WWE performer shows symptoms of a concussion or has suffered a concussion, then that WWE performer will not be cleared for a return to wrestling until he/she passes an ImPACT test and is cleared clinically by a certified physician.”
That is WWE’s description of its return-to-wrestling procedure. It does not show how individual wrestlers perform in matches, disclose their test results, or prove that one performer is safer than another.

How to assess claims about wrestler safety
When evaluating a claim, keep the kind of evidence and its limits visible. These checks help distinguish firsthand opinion from an incident report or an unsupported ranking; they are not a validated scoring system.
- Attribution: Is a named person describing firsthand experience, or is the claim a reporter’s account, anonymous comment or fan opinion?
- Scope: Does the source discuss one match or incident, a repeated pattern, or a broad career impression?
- Context: Does the account explain the circumstances and include qualifications, such as Ryback’s statement that most of his partners were safe?
- Recency and roster status: When was the claim made, and does WWE currently list the person on its roster? Roster status can change and does not establish safety.
- Evidence type: Keep a direct quote, a reported injury and an inference separate. An injury report alone does not demonstrate unsafe conduct.
What can responsibly be said about the headline’s names
The evidence supports reporting Ryback’s favorable personal assessment of Dolph Ziggler and The Miz, with the qualifications above. It does not support naming nine current WWE wrestlers as the “most unsafe,” identifying eight as the “safest,” or presenting either group as a measured comparison. WWE’s roster and policy pages supply no such ratings, and the reviewed injury retrospective does not establish a consistent comparative method.
