Why the accounts of Reginae’s conception differ
In a July 2026 appearance on the Friends Keep Secrets podcast, Wayne said his mother asked him to have a child, telling the story with the phrase, “My mom asked for my kid.” iHeart’s account says Wayne placed that conversation when he was 14, after his stepfather’s death; the same report says he was 16 when Reginae was born and Johnson was 15.
In August 2026 coverage of her interview with Rickey Smiley, Johnson disputed that account: “But his mom never made us have no kid. We didn’t even know we were having a kid…” The two recollections conflict, and the available reporting does not resolve which is accurate. The timing Wayne described for the conversation should not be confused with the reported ages of the parents when Reginae was born.

How the children have described their father’s fame
Complex reported in December 2025 that Reginae discussed the experience of growing up as Wayne’s children with her brothers on her Heir Time podcast. Their comments reflect different personal reactions, not a shared view among all four.
- Kameron said being identified at school as Wayne’s son could be difficult. He said he wanted to build real relationships rather than be defined by the attention.
