“Ozymandias” is season 5, episode 14, and the 60th episode overall. Written by Moira Walley-Beckett and directed by Rian Johnson, it aired on AMC in the United States and Canada on September 15, 2013. The episode had long been associated with a perfect aggregate IMDb rating; an episode-history account says it held that score for more than thirteen years before losing it in 2026. “I’ll Believe in Anything” — Heated Rivalry
The other episode named in reports of the tie was the fifth episode of Heated Rivalry. It was reported to share the perfect displayed IMDb score with “Ozymandias” beginning December 20, 2025. That establishes the episodes identified in the historical claim; it does not establish either episode’s live score today. IMDb episode listing.
Why “the only two” is not a current answer
IMDb’s own community poll said that, as of September 2020, “there is only one TV episode (Breaking Bad’s ‘Ozymandias’) that has a perfect IMDb rating of 10 with a minimum of 5,000 votes.” That poll is useful evidence of the episode’s earlier standing, but its date and vote threshold matter: it is not a current census, and the 5,000-vote minimum should not be assumed for later reports. On February 26, 2026, ComicBook.com reported that “Ozymandias” had dropped to 9.5 after rating campaigns and that 9.9 was then the highest rating held by a TV episode. ComicBook.com’s February 26, 2026 report. Other later material conflicts with that report, and the exact live IMDb state on October 8, 2026 has not been established here. For that reason, neither an exact current count nor current scores should be inferred from the old two-episode headline.

A displayed 10.0 is a user-rating aggregate, not proof that every vote was a 10. Scores can move as ratings arrive or rating campaigns affect the vote mix. A perfect score reported at one point in time therefore does not guarantee that an episode still displays 10.0, and a rounded displayed figure should not be treated as evidence that the underlying votes were all perfect scores.
