The actor from The Fabelmans who joined the Freaky Friday sequel is Julia Butters. The film’s official title is Freakier Friday, and Butters plays Harper, Anna Coleman’s 15-year-old daughter. Disney’s film feature identifies her character and describes the sequel’s multigenerational body-swap story.
Who is the ‘Fabelmans’ star in Freakier Friday?
It is Julia Butters, known for her role in Steven Spielberg’s The Fabelmans. Disney confirmed Butters was among the new cast members when filming began in Los Angeles in June 2024, though that initial announcement did not identify her character. A contemporaneous report likewise said her role was undisclosed at the time. Disney later confirmed she plays Harper. Disney’s production announcement and the June 2024 casting report document the early casting news.
Who does Julia Butters play?
Butters plays Harper, Anna Coleman’s 15-year-old daughter. Anna is played by Lindsay Lohan, who returns alongside Jamie Lee Curtis as Tess Coleman. Harper is part of the younger generation at the center of the sequel’s expanded family story.
What is Freakier Friday about?
Set 22 years after the 2003 film, the sequel brings Tess and Anna into another body-swap comedy, this time involving their family’s next generation. Anna is a single mother who manages pop star Ella, played by Maitreyi Ramakrishnan. She meets Eric, played by Manny Jacinto, a single father whose daughter Lily is played by Sophia Hammons. As the families come together, the body-swap premise extends across generations. Disney’s feature on the film outlines the characters and premise.
