There is no reliable official ranking showing which races in Invincible are as physically powerful as the Viltrumites. The comics do show that other species can pose serious threats through parasitism or invasion, but that is not the same as matching a Viltrumite in a one-on-one fight. This comparison focuses on the comic continuity; the available publisher summaries do not establish a complete race-by-race ranking, and show details should not be assumed to match the comics.
Why Viltrumites are the baseline
The official series descriptions establish the reason Viltrumites are a natural point of comparison: Mark Grayson gets his powers from his father, Nolan, who is Viltrumite. Image Comics and Skybound also describe Omni-Man as the most powerful superhero on Earth. These are premise-level descriptions, not a numerical measure of Viltrumite strength or proof that every Viltrumite outranks every member of every other species.

How to compare the other races
“Powerful” can mean more than physical strength. A species might be dangerous because it can overpower an individual, bypass a direct fight with a special ability, or organize an invasion. The official descriptions available here support examples of the latter two kinds of threat, but do not establish a comprehensive physical comparison.
#1 Best Overall
- Individual combat: strength, durability, flight, stamina, and the ability to injure or withstand a Viltrumite. The cited publisher material does not provide a complete comparison on these measures.
- Special abilities: abilities such as parasitism may threaten people without requiring equal physical strength.
- Collective or military threat: numbers, technology, or organization can make a group dangerous without showing that each individual matches a Viltrumite.
What the comics establish about other species
Sequids and Martians: a parasitic threat
Image Comics’ synopsis for Invincible #39 says: “Led by the parasitic SEQUIDS the Martians plan to invade Earth and provide the Sequids with a new slave race.” This supports describing the Sequids as a parasitic danger and the Martians as part of an invasion plan in that issue. It does not claim that either species matches Viltrumites in direct physical strength. Read the official issue #39 listing.
Flaxans: invaders, not a confirmed physical match
The publisher description for Invincible Volume 16 says the Flaxans invade Earth again while Mark has lost his powers. That establishes their role as invaders in the story, not the strength of each Flaxan or an equivalence with Viltrumites. The publisher’s Volume 16 page identifies the collected edition and its story context.

Does an official source rank every race?
No complete, reliable official race-by-race strength ranking is established by these sources. The Official Handbook of the Invincible Universe is a real reference publication with character profiles and entries, including Atlanteans, as recorded by the Grand Comics Database. That catalog record does not provide the handbook’s contents or substantiate a definitive comparison of every species with Viltrumites.
So the evidence supports a limited conclusion: some species can threaten characters or Earth through abilities and collective action, but the available official descriptions do not show that they are as physically powerful as Viltrumites. Claims about additional races require a specific comic scene or authoritative profile, and should be framed as interpretation when the evidence does not state a direct comparison.
