Taboo is one possible lead, but no accessible source connects it to this headline, so its identity and season-two status remain unconfirmed.
Which series does the headline mean?
DocumentaryTube’s author page lists a headline variant, “Darker Than ‘Peaky Blinders’? This Unyielding Historical Series Gets Season 2,” alongside a teaser saying a long-dormant project is showing signs of life. The teaser does not name the series. The linked article redirects to the publisher homepage, so its contents cannot be checked. See the author page.

That leaves the headline’s central question unanswered: the accessible material does not establish which show it refers to. Taboo is a possible lead, not a confirmed identification.
Is Taboo getting a second season?
An older, secondary report says Taboo was renewed for a second season, with release timing still unknown. That report does not link Taboo to the DocumentaryTube headline and does not establish a current production update. Read the renewal report.

TV Guide describes Taboo as a historical drama set in London in 1814. It follows James Delaney, who returns to England and confronts the East India Company. This premise is not evidence that Taboo is the series in the teaser. TV Guide’s series description.
Is it actually darker than Peaky Blinders?
“Darker than Peaky Blinders” is headline framing, not a sourced or measurable comparison. Because the series has not been identified, there is no sound basis here to compare its violence, tone, historical grounding, or setting with Peaky Blinders.

What is confirmed about season two?
For the unnamed series, the accessible sources establish neither a reliable current production status nor a release date. The teaser’s suggestion that a dormant project is showing signs of life is not enough to confirm filming, a broadcaster announcement, or a premiere window.
