Treat it as a practical starting point rather than an officially confirmed match between an anime episode and a chapter. If you would rather read a printed book, Yen Press’s English Volume 8 is the most practical continuation, since its publisher description begins after Jinwoo’s Jeju Island victory. A collected volume can begin a little before the exact point where the anime ends, so it is a route rather than a precise handoff.
Choose your route first
Your options come down to three questions: how precisely you want the handoff to match the anime, whether you want to read digitally or in print, and whether you would rather reread a little context first. The table below compares the routes the available sources support.
| Route | Starting point | Precision of the handoff | Format | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Webtoon from Chapter 111 | Chapter 111 | Commonly cited after Season 2; not officially confirmed as an episode-to-chapter match | Digital comic | Reread the final few chapters first if continuity matters more than minimising overlap |
| Yen Press English Volume 8 (paperback) | Events after Jinwoo’s Jeju Island victory | Collected volume; may include material before the exact handoff | Print, paperback ISBN 9798400901072 | Yen Press’s Volume 8 page lists Amazon among its retailers |
| Tappytoon official English edition | Not stated by the source | Not stated by the source; check current chapter availability on the platform | Digital | Confirm territory access before sending readers to a specific episode |
| Light novel | Not applicable | Not comparable; it is a separate prose version rather than the manhwa continued | Prose novel | Choose it only if you want prose or specifically want that version |
Starting from webtoon Chapter 111
Chapter 111 is the most precise digital entry point because it is numbered. Volumes are less exact, because one volume can contain material from before the point you stopped watching.
Rereading before you continue
- Reread the last few chapters before Chapter 111 if you want the adaptation’s choices and the comic’s pacing to line up in your head.
- Skip the rereading if you only want to avoid overlap with what you already saw on screen.
Checking availability before you start
- Open the platform where you read and confirm that Chapter 111 is available in your region and language.
- Do not assume that a chapter number is available everywhere. Sources available for this guide did not state regional availability for the chapters.
Print: Volume 8 and later volumes
Volume 8
Yen Press’s English paperback of Volume 8 is the printed route that most directly picks up after the Jeju Island arc. Use the paperback ISBN 9798400901072 when searching for the correct edition. Because a collected volume is not a chapter-by-chapter pickup, expect a few pages of material that you may already have seen in the anime.
#1 Best Overall
Volume 9 and later
Yen Press’s catalogue lists Volume 9 and later comic volumes, along with side-story volumes. According to the publisher’s summary, Volume 9 follows Jinwoo’s return to the Double Dungeon and the developments involving the Tokyo gate, so it carries the story past Volume 8. Read the publisher’s own volume description before buying, since summaries of individual volumes were not available in full for this guide.
Official digital reading
Tappytoon describes its Solo Leveling comic as an official English translation. That makes it the digital counterpart to the print route, but the chapter list and the point at which it lines up with Chapter 111 should be checked on the platform itself. Chapter numbering and availability can change, so do not give readers a specific episode link without first confirming it.
The light novel
The light novel is a prose version of the story and does not continue the manhwa in the same format. Recommend it to readers who specifically want prose. For someone who wants to pick up the comic after the anime, the novel is not a substitute for Chapter 111 or Volume 8.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What is not established
- An official mapping between anime episodes and webtoon chapters. Chapter 111 is a commonly cited starting point, not a published one.
- Current regional availability and current chapter lists for each digital platform.
- Current prices for the print volumes. The sources available for this guide did not state them.
- Full plot summaries for Volume 9 and later. The publisher’s summaries are the reliable reference for each volume’s contents.
Use the publisher and platform pages linked from each route for the current state of availability and pricing, since those details change more often than the story structure does.
