Subsequent Associated Press reporting confirmed that Harry and Meghan arrived in Melbourne on Tuesday, April 14, 2026. AP described a four-day visit through Melbourne, Canberra and Sydney, and reported that Archie and Lilibet did not travel with them. The AP account of the visit also said the couple flew commercially from Los Angeles and described the trip as privately funded.

What was the stated purpose, and what criticism did the visit draw?
The couple’s office said the program focused on existing areas of work and supporting organizations. It described the aim as “listening, learning and supporting communities rather than promotion.” That is the office’s characterization of the visit, not an independent assessment of its impact. AP reported the statement and the surrounding criticism.
AP also reported public criticism concerning police security costs and paid, ticketed events. The couple rejected the description of the trip as a publicity tour. The reporting cited here does not establish a security-cost figure, so none should be inferred from the criticism.

An Associated Press report published in August 2026 said Harry and Meghan planned an extended stay in the United Kingdom and would not resume working royal roles; it did not provide a subsequent international itinerary. That later AP report therefore does not confirm another trip abroad. The Australia visit was the trip described by the March headline, not a future visit now.
