Brian Johnson, the influencer known as Liver King, still has a public-facing brand: his official website continues to promote his “ancestral lifestyle” and its nine tenets. But the available reporting does not establish where he lives or what he is doing day to day in October 2026. The clearest recent milestones are his 2025 Netflix documentary, a proposed retreat plan, and a separate criminal charge that was later reported dismissed.
What changed after the steroid scandal?
Johnson built his online persona around raw organ meat, intense training, and an “ancestral lifestyle.” Before the disclosure, he repeatedly denied using steroids, according to TV Insider’s May 2025 account.
In November 2022, leaked emails and blood-test information brought renewed scrutiny, as TIME reported in its May 2025 documentary coverage. Johnson later acknowledged the evidence in the documentary, saying, “There was no denying that, man. I knew he got me.” Within days of the leak, he published an apology admitting he had lied.
What Johnson admitted
In his December 2022 apology, Johnson acknowledged anabolic steroid and performance-enhancing drug use and described testosterone and growth hormone. That page is a firsthand account of what he said about himself; it is not independent verification of every drug, dose, or explanation he gave.

The admission reversed years of public denials. It also changed how viewers could interpret the physique and lifestyle message at the center of his brand: his earlier claims and later admission were in direct conflict.
What does the 2025 Netflix documentary add?
Untold: The Liver King revisits Johnson’s rise, the steroid disclosure, and his public response. In the documentary-era coverage, Johnson also discussed an intention to open ancestral-lifestyle retreats. TV Insider quoted him saying, “I want the world to know that I was wrong. I got all of it wrong.” The retreat idea was a stated plan, not confirmation that retreats opened or are operating.

The film also frames Johnson as a savvy marketer. Director Joe Pearlman told TIME, “I think he’s a marketing genius, I really do,” adding, “The guy just knows what an audience wants and how to sell stuff to an audience in every sense.” Those are Pearlman’s assessments, reported by TIME on May 13, 2025—not an independent finding about Johnson’s business performance.
What happened with the Joe Rogan-related arrest?
In June 2025, Johnson was arrested in Austin on suspicion of a misdemeanor terroristic threat after posting challenges directed at Joe Rogan and traveling to Austin, according to the Los Angeles Times. The newspaper reported that he was released on $20,000 bail and initially faced stay-away and no-contact conditions. Those were conditions reported at the time, not a final legal outcome.

In November 2025, MMA Fighting reported that a Travis County criminal-court representative confirmed the charge had been dismissed. Johnson was not convicted on that charge.

His official website remains a public home for the brand and its nine tenets. That establishes an ongoing web presence, not independent evidence that the tenets are medically sound or that Johnson is following them in private.

TIME reported that Johnson had six million followers in 2021 and that his supplements brand had $100 million in annual turnover. These are historical figures cited in 2025 coverage, not current follower counts or audited present-day revenue. The sources reviewed do not establish his precise current residence, posting frequency, business ownership, or current revenue. A 2025 account describing Texas as his residence should not be treated as confirmation of where he lives in October 2026.
So the most accurate answer to “Where is the Liver King now?” is limited: Johnson remains represented by a live public brand, and the 2025 documentary captured a period when he discussed a possible retreat venture. The public reporting cited here does not verify his exact whereabouts or daily activities today.
