As of October 2026, the two surviving Carter siblings named in public reporting are Nick Carter, the Backstreet Boys singer, and his sister Angel Carter Conrad. Angel is the more visible of the two in current public activity. In May 2026 she co-chaired a children’s mental-health event in Los Angeles, and she is the subject of a 2025 documentary that Nick also appears in. Beyond those documented items, the available sources say little about either sibling’s private life, and this article does not fill that gap with assumptions.
The family today, sibling by sibling
The Carter siblings described in reporting are Leslie, Bobbie Jean, Aaron, Nick and Angel. Three of them have died, and the surviving pair are Nick and Angel.

Bobbie Jean was reported to have worked in Aaron’s music orbit, including as a stylist and makeup artist, and to have appeared with her siblings on the 2006 reality series House of Carters. A 2023 report described her as having kept a relatively private life after the show. The sources do not give cause-of-death details for each sibling, and the family’s history has been described in reporting in connection with addiction, mental-health struggles and family dysfunction. Those are reported themes in the coverage, not diagnoses of any individual. Where a death circumstance matters to your reading, check the specific report or official record cited for it, and treat allegations about family conduct or legal matters as unproven unless a court disposition establishes them.
Angel Carter Conrad’s current work
Angel’s most current public activity is in children’s mental-health advocacy. The Kids Mental Health Foundation describes her as a champion whose work centers on children’s mental health and on sharing her family’s story. The foundation says she and Corey Conrad co-chair its annual Los Angeles event.

The foundation’s May 2026 release reports that the two co-chaired that year’s Kids Mental Health Day at The Grove. The organization reported two figures for that event:
- More than 3,500 families, caregivers and community members attended (Kids Mental Health Foundation, 2026).
- More than 2,000 mental-wellness bags containing free resources were distributed (Kids Mental Health Foundation, 2026).
These numbers describe one organization’s event. They are not national mental-health statistics and say nothing about treatment outcomes. In her profile on the foundation’s site, Angel explains her motivation this way: “I love partnering with KMHF because I get to be a part of the change: to see people incorporate mental health into their households, to hear my daughter talk about mental health—it shows that what we are doing is making an impact.”

Nick Carter’s public activity
Nick’s documented public activity in the sources reviewed is his participation alongside Angel in the 2025 documentary series. The sources do not establish his current touring or recording schedule, his place of residence, or any recent developments in his private life, so this article does not report them. If you want the latest on his music career, use his official channels and recent entertainment coverage dated after the documentary’s release.
The 2025 documentary: The Carters: Hurts to Love You
Paramount+ lists The Carters: Hurts to Love You as a two-part documentary released in 2025. It is the most direct recent context for why people are asking about the family, and it is told largely through Angel’s account, with Nick taking part. TIME’s April 2025 feature also described the series as focused on Angel’s story.

Part 1: Aaron’s rise and fall
According to the platform’s episode summary, Part 1 follows Aaron’s rise and fall as seen through his sister’s account.
Part 2: Family dynamics after the losses
Part 2 has Nick and Angel explore the family dynamics connected to their siblings’ deaths. The official synopsis lists fame, mental illness, addiction and neglect among the subjects. These are the documentary’s stated themes and framing. They are not conclusions that have been independently adjudicated.
