Simon Basset, the Duke of Hastings, is alive and remains Daphne’s husband, but he does not appear in Bridgerton Season 2. Daphne says she left her husband and child at home; the series does not give a more specific account of where Simon is or what he is doing.

Where is Simon in Bridgerton Season 2?

In the opening episode, Daphne visits the Bridgertons and explains that her husband and child are at home. Anthony also refers to Hastings having married. These lines establish Simon as part of Daphne’s family life, but the show does not name a location or provide an offscreen itinerary.

Netflix’s character guide identifies Simon as Daphne’s husband and their son as August, also called Augie. Season 2 leaves Simon offscreen rather than supplying a new plot about him.

Is Regé-Jean Page in Season 2?

No. Regé-Jean Page did not return as Simon for Season 2. The announcement reported by TheWrap said Simon would be missed onscreen while remaining part of the Bridgerton family. Daphne, played by Phoebe Dynevor, continues to appear.

Why is Simon missing from the season?

Page described Simon’s part as a one-season story. In a Variety interview quoted by TheWrap, he said: “It’s a one-season arc. It’s going to have a beginning, middle, end – give us a year.” That is Page’s account of how the role was framed, not evidence that Simon’s marriage or place in the story ended.

Season 1 centers on Daphne and Simon; Season 2 shifts its central romance to Anthony. It adapts Julia Quinn’s second Bridgerton novel, The Viscount Who Loved Me. The book provides adaptation context, but it does not establish a more precise answer about Simon’s whereabouts in the show.

What happened to Simon and Daphne?

Season 2 does not depict a death or divorce: Daphne refers to Simon as her husband, and the family is described as being at home with their child. The careful distinction is that Simon is absent from the screen, while the series continues to treat him as part of Daphne’s family.
