Rex Heuermann’s former wife, Asa Ellerup, and their daughter, Victoria, have appeared in court and in the Peacock documentary The Gilgo Beach Killer: House of Secrets. Reports described plans for Ellerup to move from the family’s Massapequa Park home to South Carolina, but later coverage said she was still living in the New York house. Public reporting does not confirm where Ellerup, Victoria or her son Christopher Sheridan lives today.

What is known about the family’s location now?

The clearest answer is that their exact current residences have not been reliably established in public reporting. In March 2025, Newsday reported that Ellerup planned to leave the Massapequa Park home and move to a family property in Chester, South Carolina. Biography.com later described her as being in the process of moving, while also noting that an April 2026 episode of the Peacock series showed her still in the Massapequa Park house. Those accounts describe plans and an earlier point in time, not a confirmed present-day address.

No reviewed report reliably confirms where Victoria or Christopher Sheridan lives now. Because these are private individuals, it is more accurate to leave their locations unreported than to treat a planned move as proof that it happened.

Who are Asa Ellerup, Victoria and Christopher Sheridan?

Ellerup and Heuermann married in April 1996 and had one daughter, Victoria. Ellerup also has a son, Christopher Sheridan, from a previous relationship; Heuermann was his stepfather. The family lived in Heuermann’s Massapequa Park, New York, home.

Their relationship to Heuermann does not establish knowledge of or involvement in his crimes. Their attorney, Robert Macedonio, said Ellerup and Victoria had no knowledge of or involvement in them; that is the attorney’s statement on their behalf.

What happened after Heuermann’s arrest?

  • July 13, 2023: Heuermann was arrested. Ellerup filed for divorce shortly afterward, according to reporting by Biography.com.
  • March 2025: The divorce was finalized.
  • April 8, 2026: Heuermann pleaded guilty to seven murders and admitted killing Karen Vergata, an eighth victim. Ellerup and Victoria attended the hearing.
  • June 17, 2026: Heuermann was sentenced to three consecutive life terms without parole, followed by four consecutive terms of 25 years to life. Two days later, Fox News quoted Macedonio as saying Heuermann had not contacted Ellerup or the children after his transfer from Suffolk County Jail.

What have Ellerup and Victoria said publicly?

Ellerup and Victoria appeared in the four-part Peacock series The Gilgo Beach Killer: House of Secrets, which includes their interviews and accounts. Their recollections and views in the series are their own statements, not independent confirmation of private family details.

After Heuermann’s guilty plea, the Associated Press reported that Ellerup asked for privacy for her family during what she called a “very difficult time” and expressed thoughts and prayers for the victims’ families. The victims and their families remain central to the case; coverage of Heuermann’s relatives should not eclipse their losses.

In June 2026, Fox News quoted Macedonio saying Ellerup considered the sentence appropriate and that Heuermann “got what he deserved.” Those remarks were attributed to her attorney.

What is publicly known about Ellerup’s health?

Earlier coverage discussed Ellerup’s cancer treatment, but Biography.com’s April 8, 2026 update said no information about her current condition had been shared publicly. Older treatment reporting should not be taken as an update on her health today.
