The extended absence that drew attention was in 2025: Nova said he was taking personal leave, and he returned to Nathan, Nat & Shaun on May 5. The available sources do not establish that he is absent now in 2026 or explain any later absence.
Where is Nathan Morris from?
PerthNow describes Morris as Kalgoorlie-raised. That wording identifies where he grew up; it does not necessarily establish his birthplace. He presents Nathan, Nat & Shaun, Nova 93.7’s Perth breakfast program, alongside Nat Locke and Shaun McManus. Nova lists the show as airing from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and says it began in 2009. Nova Entertainment’s show page provides the presenter and program details.
What happened during his 2025 absence?
In a March 21, 2025 report, PerthNow said Morris had missed most of March and the end of February. Locke and McManus continued the show as a duo, with assistance from other station staff. Nova told PerthNow: “Nathan will be on personal leave from the breakfast show for the current survey period. Nat and Shaun will continue to co-host the show while Nathan takes a break.” PerthNow’s March report records the network’s statement.
What did Morris say when he returned?
Morris returned to the program on Monday, May 5, 2025, after more than three months away. As quoted by PerthNow, he said: “Something happened in my personal life that was one of these monumental things that happens that you can’t really process.” He added that the matter had started the previous year and resurfaced in 2025, and that he could not discuss it because legal proceedings were involved. PerthNow’s May 5 report covers his return and remarks. Radio Today also reported the return and his explanation, but its account is a secondary report of the same on-air comments, not separate confirmation of the underlying matter. Radio Today’s report provides that account.

- XLR MICROPHONE: requires an audio interface or mixer with an XLR input, not a USB microphone
- PODCAST-READY SOUND: broadcast-quality dynamic capsule tuned for speech, rejects room noise in untreated spaces
- BUILT-IN POP PROTECTION: internal pop filter and shock mounting tame plosives and desk thumps without extra accessories
- ALL-METAL BUILD: robust body designed to sit on air for years, matches the RØDECaster family
- IN THE BOX: PodMic with integrated swing mount, connects to any XLR interface, mixer or RØDECaster
There is no supported basis for inferring what the legal matter concerned. Morris said he could not speak about it in detail, and the reporting does not identify the other parties or proceedings.
Is he currently absent from the show?
The sources cited here establish the 2025 leave and return, but do not confirm a current 2026 absence or its cause. An Omny.fm listing for a 2026 Book Week episode includes Nathan, Nat and Shaun; that single episode listing does not establish Morris’s regular attendance or rule out a later absence. The episode listing is limited evidence about that program entry, not a current status announcement.
