Universal Pictures and Focus Features live-action films are expected to join Netflix’s U.S. lineup beginning with the 2027 slate—but not as day-and-date releases. Under the expanded agreement announced by Netflix and Universal Filmed Entertainment Group on October 29, 2024, a film will first premiere on Peacock after its theatrical run, then reach Netflix no later than eight months after its theatrical release. It will remain exclusive to Netflix for ten months before returning to Peacock.
What Universal movies are coming to Netflix in 2027?
The agreement covers live-action films from Universal Pictures and Focus Features, beginning with the 2027 slate in the United States. Netflix and Universal’s announcement does not name any individual films or give a title-by-title release schedule, so specific movies and streaming dates should not be treated as confirmed by this deal announcement.
The terms come from Netflix’s October 29, 2024 announcement. They describe a licensing arrangement for U.S. streaming rights, not a worldwide move of Universal’s films to Netflix.
When will Universal movies stream on Netflix?
The announced sequence is theatrical release, an initial Peacock premiere, a Netflix window, and then a return to Peacock. Netflix is due to receive the covered live-action films no later than eight months after their theatrical release. The announcement describes a ten-month exclusive Netflix window, after which the films return to Peacock.

Yes. Alongside the new live-action component, Netflix and Universal renewed their existing arrangement for animated films from Illumination and DreamWorks Animation. The 2027 expansion specifically adds Universal Pictures and Focus Features live-action films to the U.S. offering; the announcement does not provide a list of titles for either part of the agreement.
