Beyoncé’s album Cowboy Carter (also announced as Act II: Cowboy Carter) was released worldwide on March 29, 2024. If you are asking when the album is coming, the answer is that it has already arrived. As of early October 2026, the sources available do not establish a confirmed release date for a follow-up studio album, so any future date you see should be treated as unconfirmed unless it comes from an official announcement.
When was Cowboy Carter released?
Sony Music Canada’s label release page states that Cowboy Carter was available worldwide on Friday, March 29, 2024. The release followed the February 11, 2024 release of the singles “TEXAS HOLD ‘EM” and “16 CARRIAGES.” The Associated Press reported on March 12, 2024 that the album would be called Act II: Cowboy Carter, would arrive March 29, and would be offered in limited-edition CD, vinyl and box-set formats. According to that report, the title was revealed on Beyoncé’s official website.

Is a new Beyoncé studio album scheduled?
The sources reviewed do not give a confirmed date for a studio album after Cowboy Carter. The Apple Music U.S. artist catalog, checked in early October 2026, is the most useful current reference point, and it shows three items that are easy to confuse:
| Title as listed | Listed year | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| B’DAY (20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition) | 2026 | Anniversary reissue of the 2006 album, listed as a 2026 album |
| Cowboy Carter | 2024 | Studio album, released March 29, 2024 |
| Renaissance | 2022 | Studio album, previous to Cowboy Carter |
The 2026 entries are catalog items, not a dated announcement of a new studio album. Catalog listings can change as releases are added, so a check on the day you read this is the best way to confirm whether anything new has appeared.

What kind of album is Cowboy Carter?
Cowboy Carter has 27 tracks. The label’s track list includes “TEXAS HOLD ‘EM,” “16 CARRIAGES,” “JOLENE” and “II MOST WANTED.” Sony Music Canada describes the record as deeply rooted in country while spanning country, original R&B, blues, zydeco and Black folk, and as paying tribute to musical pioneers. That framing is the label’s own description, so it is best attributed to the label rather than presented as a neutral critical verdict.
What Beyoncé has said about the album
Sony Music Japan published a Japanese translation of a long statement from Beyoncé about the album, dated March 21, 2024. According to that page, the album took five years to make. It grew out of an experience in which she felt unwelcome in country music, which led her to research the history of the genre and its musical archives. She also framed the record as a continuation of Renaissance.
Rank #2
The statement includes a sentence that the translation renders as “This is not a country album. This is a ‘Beyoncé album.'” The Japanese wording is: これはカントリー・アルバムではありません。これは“ビヨンセのアルバム”です。 Because this is a translation, not the English original, quote the sentence only with that caveat, or paraphrase the point: she presented the record as a Beyoncé album rather than a straightforward country record.

AP’s March 2024 report says limited-edition CD, vinyl and box-set releases were announced alongside the album title. That report confirms only that these formats were announced. It does not establish current retail stock, current prices, or which editions are still available. If you are looking for a physical copy, check current retailer listings directly, and compare the format, track list and any bonus content on the specific listing before buying.
