Radio Times reports that episode 1 shows the group celebrating Trunks’s ninth birthday and uses that detail to place DAIMA in Age 775. The distinction matters: the birthday is the episode-specific clue described by the outlet, while Age 775 is its interpretation of that clue. The official sources cited here do not independently state that year or confirm the birthday-to-year calculation.
Is DAIMA before or after Dragon Ball Super?
On the reported placement, DAIMA falls between the Buu Saga and Super. Toei Animation’s 2015 article about Super said the series takes place “right after the Dragon Ball Z Buu saga.” That is useful historical context about Super, but it predates DAIMA and does not itself confirm DAIMA’s position.

The Dragon Ball Official Site describes DAIMA as set in the Demon Realm and says Goku and his companions are turned small through a conspiracy. It also credits Akira Toriyama with the series’ original concept, story, and character designs. Those details establish the series’ premise and creative context, not its exact Age 775 placement. The Official Site’s chronology records that DAIMA began broadcasting in 2024 and that Dragon Ball Super began serialization and broadcasting in 2015. Those are publication and broadcast dates, not in-universe dates. Dragon Ball Official Site chronology.
