When does Best Medicine Season 2 premiere?
FOX lists Season 2 of Best Medicine as premiering Tuesday, September 22, 2026, on its current show page. FOX also included that date in its July 2026 fall-dates announcement.
What is Best Medicine about?
Best Medicine is FOX’s American adaptation of the Doc Martin format. In FOX’s synopsis, Martin Best, played by Josh Charles, leaves Boston to work as a general practitioner in a small East Coast fishing village where he spent summers as a child. His blunt manner puts him at odds with the locals, including schoolteacher Louisa Gavin, played by Abigail Spencer. The cast also includes Josh Segarra, Annie Potts, and Cree. FOX says the series is produced by FOX Entertainment Studios and distributed by FOX Entertainment Global; the format originated with All3Media International. FOX’s series page provides its official premise and credits.

How does the remake relate to Doc Martin?
The American series adapts the Doc Martin format rather than continuing the original British show. The original concluded with its tenth series, which ITV’s press notes identify as its final series; that final series comprised eight episodes.
FOX Television Network President Michael Thorn described the adaptation as giving the original’s eccentricity “a smalltown America spin, complete with idyllic charm and absurdity.” The full statement is in FOX’s announcement.

What has FOX said about the audience?
FOX reported that Best Medicine reached nearly 16 million viewers across platforms in its first 11 days. That is the network’s own reported figure; the figure should not be read as an independently audited audience measurement.
