In the United States, Volume 2 released on December 25, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. PT / 8:00 p.m. ET. The one-episode finale—officially titled “The Finale”, though many viewers call it Volume 3—followed on December 31, 2025, at the same time.
Both releases have already happened. As of August 12, 2026, all eight episodes of the final season are streaming on Netflix.

Netflix divided the final eight episodes into three releases: four episodes in Volume 1, three in Volume 2, and a single concluding episode in the final release. The official Netflix schedule calls the last installment “The Finale,” rather than “Volume 3.” “Volume 3” remains a useful informal description because Season 5 arrived in three parts.
What time did Volume 2 release?
For viewers in the United States, Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 2 became available on December 25, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time and 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time. It contained three episodes, making it a substantial Christmas-night viewing block rather than a single bonus episode.

The timing meant that anyone determined to watch immediately had to plan around Christmas dinner, travel, family gatherings, and other holiday commitments. Viewers who preferred to avoid spoilers also had to be cautious once the episodes went live that evening.
What time did the Stranger Things finale release?
The final episode arrived on December 31, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. PT / 8:00 p.m. ET in the United States. Unlike Volume 2, this release contained only one episode: the series finale.
That placed the conclusion of the show directly on New Year’s Eve. U.S. viewers who wanted to finish the series at launch had to choose between starting the finale before midnight celebrations, watching during the evening, or postponing it until the new year.

Why did some countries get the episodes on a different date?
Netflix launched the installments globally at the same moment, but that moment fell on different calendar dates depending on the viewer’s time zone. Netflix’s regional schedule placed the releases on the following dates:
- Americas, including the United States: Volume 2 on December 25, 2025; the finale on December 31, 2025.
- Many territories in Europe, Africa, Asia, and Oceania: Volume 2 on December 26, 2025; the finale on January 1, 2026.
The exact local clock time varied by territory, so the safest international interpretation is that many viewers outside the Americas saw Volume 2 on December 26 and the finale on January 1. It would be misleading to assign one universal local time to every country without checking Netflix’s territory-specific schedule.
What was in Volume 2?
Volume 2 was the second chapter of the final season and consisted of three episodes. Netflix’s spoiler-light preview described the Hawkins group’s race to uncover the Upside Down’s darkest secrets while the conflict with Vecna continued. It also highlighted Will’s ongoing connection to the Upside Down and the returning Hawkins ensemble.

This article avoids revealing the finale’s major developments. Trailer coverage can contain plot information beyond the basic release schedule, so viewers seeking a completely spoiler-free experience should avoid trailers and ending explainers until they have finished all eight episodes.
Are all Stranger Things Season 5 episodes available now?
Yes. Volume 1, Volume 2, and The Finale are all available to stream on Netflix as of August 12, 2026. The original “upcoming release” framing is now historical: Volume 2 premiered on December 25, 2025, and the finale premiered on December 31, 2025, in the U.S.

Ways to keep the Hawkins marathon going
Fans who want something beyond streaming have a few officially connected options. The LEGO Icons Stranger Things: The Creel House, model 11370, is a 2,593-piece adult building set based on one of the franchise’s most recognizable locations. LEGO describes it as having seven furnished spaces, a transforming Mind Lair, Steve’s car, the WSQK radio van, Will’s bicycle, and 13 minifigures. LEGO lists a U.S. price of $299.99; general availability began January 4, 2026, after LEGO Insiders early access on January 1. Retail stock and pricing can change.
For a group activity, Dungeons & Dragons: Stranger Things — Welcome to the Hellfire Club is a physical collaborative game connected to the Hellfire Club and the show’s Dungeons & Dragons storyline. The official description supports two to four players, a Dungeon Master, and four adventures. Hasbro announced that it reached shelves on October 7, 2025.

Collectors may also encounter Stranger Things: The Complete Series physical editions, including reported Blu-ray and 4K UHD collector formats. Edition names, retailer listings, stock, and prices vary, so check the specific product listing before buying.
Another post-finale option is Stranger Things: The Official Story Behind the Legendary Series, a deluxe behind-the-scenes book covering all five seasons with interviews, photographs, scripts, concept art, storyboards, costume photography, and maps. Netflix Tudum identified it as a Target exclusive scheduled for June 30, 2026; it should not be described as an Amazon-exclusive or assumed to be available from a particular retailer without current verification.

Will there be spoilers in release-date coverage?
The dates and episode counts do not require spoilers, but trailers, post-finale interviews, ending explainers, and character-outcome articles may reveal major story information. If you are watching for the first time, stop after the schedule and episode-count sections until you have completed the season. The holiday scheduling itself is safe to discuss; the ending is not covered here.
