For the week of September 28–October 4, 2026, Netflix reported 6.5 million views for East of Eden and 5.1 million for Not a Stranger. Those are separate category leaders—not positions in one combined ranking.
The available October 8 rankings do not support a reliable, unified list of 15 most-watched series. Here’s what the current evidence does establish, with the global weekly results kept separate from a U.S.-only list.
The latest global weekly TV leaders
Netflix’s weekly Top 10 article, published October 6, covers September 28–October 4, 2026. It ranks English and non-English TV separately, so the two leaders below should not be treated as first and second in a single worldwide chart.
| Netflix category | Rank and title | Reported views | What the figure means |
|---|---|---|---|
| English TV | No. 1: East of Eden | 6.5 million | Netflix’s views for the English TV list during September 28–October 4, 2026. |
| Non-English TV | No. 1: Not a Stranger | 5.1 million | Netflix’s views for the non-English TV list during the same week. |
In that English TV list, A Different World ranked No. 3. Both seasons of The Gentlemen also appeared in the Top 10: Season 2 at No. 6 and Season 1 at No. 9. These placements apply to that week’s list, not to a permanent or all-time ranking. Netflix’s Top 10 page explains that rankings cover selected countries and territories and that title availability varies by region.

What’s trending in the United States
A separate U.S.-specific list published by Tom’s Guide on October 6 names ten shows drawn from the Netflix U.S. Top 10 as of that date. It is a snapshot of the U.S. chart, not a global ranking and not a list of 15.
- East of Eden
- A Different World
- The Great British Baking Show
- Wonka’s the Golden Ticket
- Murder in a Small Town
- Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story
- The Way Home
- LEGO ONE PIECE
- Percy Jackson and the Olympians
- Doc
Tom’s Guide highlights East of Eden, Murder in a Small Town and Percy Jackson and the Olympians as recommendations. That is the publication’s editorial judgment, not a Netflix score for quality or a claim that those are the three most-watched series everywhere. Read its October 6 U.S. list.

What the view counts tell you—and what they don’t
The weekly figures show which titles led their respective Netflix lists during one defined week. They are useful for answering “What’s trending this week?” but cannot establish which show is best, which will suit a particular viewer, or which title is most watched across every country and language combined.
Netflix’s six-month What We Watched report measures a different thing: viewing over January–June 2026. Netflix reported more than 97 billion hours watched across the service in that period and said His & Hers recorded 104 million views, the highest show total for that half-year. Those figures describe a longer period and should not be presented as current-week rankings. Netflix says it plans to move from six-month reports to a yearly snapshot starting in Q1 2027. What to know about the current No. 1
East of Eden
The English TV leader is a seven-episode limited series adapting John Steinbeck’s novel. Netflix says the novel returned to the top of book charts after the series launched. Viewers who want the story’s literary source can explore Netflix’s series information and the original novel, while checking local availability before planning a watch: Netflix’s catalog differs by region.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why there isn’t a defensible list of 15 here
The dated evidence available for October 8, 2026, does not establish 15 titles on one consistently ranked scale. Netflix’s latest weekly report separates English and non-English TV; the U.S. list covers a different geography and contains ten shows. Combining those lists would mix categories, locations and ranking dates, creating a numbered order that no source supports. The more accurate answer is to use the dated lists within their stated scope and consult Netflix’s weekly rankings for the latest updates.
