The “spleen guy” on Love Is Blind: UK Season 2 is Patrick, a Human Design coach. When he said he was guided by his spleen, he meant trusting his intuition. He was not talking about the physical organ. He explained this himself in a later interview with Netflix, and he used the framework to make real decisions in the pods, including ending his connection with Aanu.
What Patrick meant by “spleen”
Human Design is a self-description system that assigns each person a decision-making “authority.” In Patrick’s version of that system, the authority runs through the spleen. Netflix’s Season 2 cast profile described him as a Human Design coach who planned to rely on his spleen to tell him whether he had met the right woman (Netflix Tudum, Season 2 cast profile).
Asked about it in a later Netflix interview, Patrick put it this way:
“In human design, the way I’m meant to make decisions is through my spleen. It just basically means ‘trust your intuition.’ It doesn’t actually mean the physical spleen.” (Netflix Tudum, post-reunion update, published 26 November 2025)

- TV, simplified: With setup that only takes minutes, a simple-to-navigate Home Screen, and an uncluttered remote control that does all you need—Roku makes it easier to watch the TV you love.
So the phrase is shorthand inside his practice. Nothing in the show’s coverage suggests he was making a medical claim, and nothing in it establishes that anyone can make relationship decisions with their anatomical spleen.
How the phrase came up on the show
Patrick’s use of the term was tied to concrete choices in the pods, not just to atmosphere.

- Ending the pod connection with Aanu. Netflix reports that Patrick ended his connection with Aanu after sensing the two were incompatible. He described that call in the terms of his intuition-based framework.
- Skipping the reunion. Patrick later said he did not attend the reunion because he did not want to keep revisiting that conflict. He did not appear in person, but he sent a statement that was read there (Netflix Tudum, reunion recap).
Both points come from Patrick’s own explanation and Netflix’s account of events. Neither is independently verified beyond what the show and its coverage present.
Why viewers remember the line
Most people would say “gut instinct” where Patrick said “spleen,” and that gap is the source of the joke. Netflix’s reunion recap played on it, noting that his spleen had again told him not to attend (Netflix Tudum, reunion recap). The Standard’s Season 2 review picked out another line from him: “My spleen is silent” (The Standard, Season 2 review).

The repetition is what made the phrase stick. Patrick did not use it once as a passing remark. He returned to it at several points in his story, so it became a running character detail.
Patrick’s reunion statement
At the reunion, a statement from Patrick was read out. Netflix’s recap quotes it: “I came into Love Is Blind single with the genuine intention of finding a wife.” The same statement said that 2025 had been life-changing for him as he embraced becoming a father (Netflix Tudum, reunion recap). These are Patrick’s own words, reported by Netflix, rather than facts checked independently.

What is and isn’t established
- Patrick is the contestant known as the spleen guy, and Netflix lists his occupation as Human Design coach.
- In his own account, “spleen” stood for intuition within Human Design, and he said it did not refer to the organ.
- He cited that intuition in the decision to end his connection with Aanu and in his choice to skip the reunion in person.
- Coverage available at the time of writing contains no medical or scientific claim about the spleen attached to his remarks.
For more on the show’s cast and season context, see the Standard review.
Taken together, the answer is simple: the spleen guy is Patrick, and “spleen” was his Human Design word for trusting his gut.
